Not Understanding Early Access

in Final Fantasy XIV
So I pre-ordered ARR last night, thinking that I would be able to join in on this open beta/early acces. Is the open beta and early access two entirely different things? I have now re-read everything that has been sent to my email and on the square enix site on how to access and was informed I would receive a code to enter for early access, but have yet to receive this. Is this because early access hasn't begun? I'm just a bit confused here and can't seem to find any info on any current status of servers or anything. Thanks in advance.

    Beta ended this morning, your pre-order will get you into early access. The beta had open registration on the main website for the game, a pre-order was not necessary nor did it even get you into the beta.

    I believe early access starts this coming Friday, and this EA will be for the entirety of this coming weekend.

    Thanks for clearing that up for me guys. I just received my pre order code in email, finally. Still not letting my register the code though, haha. Guess I'll just wait it out.

    Should get an email either today or tomorrow to register your preorder code.

    Question: will every person with a squareenix account receive that mail? Reasoning is, that I am not sure if I will buy on Wednesday or Thursday and I really don't want to buy a "pre-order" that late unless I am sure that I will be able to play FFXIV over the weekend which is what matters to me currently.

    You won't have to wait for the email to register your code the site will just be going up tomorrow

    Sorry to post this here but wanted to ask... does the standard 24.99e version includes gametime? I get to play this friday, do i have to buy gametime when FFXIV launches august 27?

    Yes, it includes 30 days of playtime.

    I order mine through Gamestop and we all know how Gamestop loves to screw up consistently on pre-orders. I got the PC version and if early access starts this Friday will I have to wait to Monday to play it or how will that work out?
