Hi there,
Iam looking for an alternative to the default Realtek Equalizer which has only 10band, there are certain Hz ranges which i would love to use but the default EQ is not offering that.
Anyone can recommand an EQ with i.e. 18band which works for the PC sound system and without VST (Steinberg) ?
Thank you for the help

I'm not sure about software - that may depend on the driver for your sound card - a Sound Blaster ~may~ have it, a more professional-minded card (such as M-Audio) will almost certainly have it.
I did find this just doing a google search:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/

No idea if they are decent or not - there were a few other options out there if you care to search yourself.
As a second thought, is there a good reason to be doing it digitally, as opposed to analog? You could always throw an old school analog equalizer on your line out, and before your amp/speakers, and get (quite possibly) a higher quality effect.
Thank you for your help. Well I have an onboard chip sound thats why I use Realtek drivers.
I did try the APO and its actually an amazing software, unfortunately its rather for normal speakers and not for headphones. At least it did not work for me and the software did not recognize my headphones with just a a very low dB when using the calibration/testings. I dont have any analog EQ, seems like there are not really any options except with Steinberg VTR. Well, than I have to live with the default EQ from Realtek if there is nothing around.
I really wonder why there is not a simple software 18band EQ around.
Thank you for the help
