What is EVE?

in EVE Online
I know it's a space-based game but is that all you do?  Fly around?  Or can you land, wlak around and do other stuff?

    Take a look at the main website EVE Online Main Website and check out the list of content and what not. It is all pretty detailed and has nice screenshots/videos of the game.

    As for the basics, it is a space simulator where you fly ships, no walking, no characters (yes, you are a person but you don't actualy ever see yourself unless you get killed).

    Well if you made a reference to SOE, that means SWG, that means you are looking for a comparison.

    Well like a week ago one of my EVE corp members talked to me about SWG he used to play like a year ago. He said he used to be a chef in the game and had to feed 600 people or something. Then he organised fight club, and offered brandy he distilled himself to the winners of the fight club. He had to make his girlfriend help him to keep count of the winners.

     He finally decided to take people with him to invade a planet occupied by rebels, but the rebels outnumbered him since (at that time maybe) everybody wanted to be a rebel. Sounded like a blast so I checked out SWG and read all the complaints about it, but still tried it out.

    well with EVE if you have a problem CCP answers on the spot, I swear it's true I was really impressed.

    The graphics are astounding in space, much better than those of SWG. You can really immerse yourself in the virtual life. And the community great, because deeply dumb people just can't play the game, it's to complicated.

    Very very few bugs the max you can get is like you have to wait till downtime to get your money back from a cancelled order. That's the worst I got.  SWG had huge difficiencyes from the beginning, like my alt button to move the mouse around never worked (maybe it's not made for european laptops).

    however I believe we don't have the same profession diversity or quests than in SWG, and it is true you can't run around. Sometimes things do get repetitive.

    If they make a next generation MMORPG between old SWG and EVE tha would really be perfect.

    Great!  Thanx alot for the information.  I downloaded it and recieved a trial offer.  I strated with the tutorial and something or someone attacked me right away.  LOL  Anyhow, I'll give it a shot and see how it goes.  Thanx again.

    not that its really big deal but to comment on darkpanther and the alt button trouble with SWG, i ahd that same trouble cause c-3po says to hold down the alt button. but thats not the case. as long as u just press it and let go( just like tapping it) then ull be able to move the mouse around. but if ur having more troubles then i can understand because SWG has gone down the drain.

    yeah well thanks but, I erased the game since I couldn't play it...

    I wish I had known that before though, well I might download it again ;)
