Chances of Getting onto Gilgamesh?

MonorojoMonorojo Member UncommonPosts: 411

So my pre launch guild was on gilgamesh. But 6 hours after the launch of Phase 45, Gilgamesh was permanently unavailable to new players (at least when i was on)

Do I need to be there at 2 AM on Saturday morning to get onto gilgamesh? Is that really my only option?

    Hey - on Gilgamesh here.

From the devs announcements on the launcher, it's looking like they are going to be gating access to servers by new characters in intervals to spread people out a bit. They are also going to be (hopefully) fewer errors that trap characters online, encourage others not to log out, or keep people from getting into server queues.

If you don't get in right away, I'd try every so often, and keep up with the dev announcements of when they are gating/reopening access to servers by new characters.

Thanks for the swift reply fellow gilgamesh comrade!

Is there a link to the article that talks about what you are referring to? For some awful reason, I can't click on any of the links on the launcher (including the open letter and announcement of Early Start time) without getting a script error -_-

Here you go OP, from another fellow Gilgameshian :

We are expecting major congestion during the period starting with the Early Access on Aug. 24, 2013 at 09:00 (GMT) leading up to the official game launch on Aug. 27, 2013 (GMT).

If a large volume of players attempt to login to the game simultaneously, certain players may receive the following message: “This World is currently full. Players in queue: ##.” If you receive this message, we ask that you please wait until your login is processed.

In addition, in order to avoid server congestion related issues from multiple characters concentrating in the starting areas, we may implement restrictions on logins and/or the creation of new characters for a period of time after the servers open to the public.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

Also here is a list of the P4 stuff they fixed :

I'd say if you can, you should make a character if possible at 2am and then go back to bed, just so you don't have to worry about it being locked out for new characters later.

It shouldn't be a problem Mono. Honestly I think the main reason for that was because of the login errors (which were causing people to register as AFK, even though they weren't actually logged in.

I was able to create a 2nd character on Gilgamesh on the final night of beta, no problem. So it's definitely not a static block on character creation. If you're in for early access you should definitely be able to make one then.

That said, it will probably be easier to do so during non-peak hours, rather than trying to create additional toons as everyone's trying to log in.
