If one more person says they paid for SoG

If one more person complains about paying for SoG I am going to snap. You did not pay for SoG, you paid for a preorder of Dark and Light when it releases. And dont complain about the graphics until you use the command to set them on high. They look like crap on the default, but if you use the in game command I think that the graphics look fine. They arent cartoon crap like WoW at least.

Yeah getting pretty tired of the people complaining about buying the game. You can only blame urself for buying a game you havent even tried out. What you bought was a preorder for DnL, thats it, the rest is a bonus.

i agree, if u did not come in to this game expecting to beta test u should turn around and march back to your SWG, WoW, GW, wherever u came from, just turn around, i dont want your crybaby attitude over here, oh and here's a little something for all the people that wanna complain about Farlan,NP3 and co, NEWSFLASH!! this isnt your big time game company people, these guys started from the very bottom of the foodchain, there not a power house like sony, and blizzard, they didnt have the money to fund this game all at once, so what did they do? u guessed it, did it over time, time well spent imo, 4 years still to long ya think? no..its not, sony was able to go into the video gaming business because they had funds from all there other products, tv's, cameras, yada yada, oh and blizzard well u might have heard of a few games called starcraft, and warcraft, yeh those rts games gave them all the money they needed to go through with WoW. anyways i've been up for 35+ hours now and im tired.

Kinda have to disagree here, went back just now and reread the FAQ and word for word phrasology of the Pioneer offer, and because of the way the deal is structured they did in fact pay for SOG. Foolish maybe, but still, because of the SOG special features of the Pioneer offer, and the fact the refund is based off SOG access, it does indeed appear they have paid for SOG.

Really not very well structured offer honestly, usually companies are more careful about their legalese phrasology will deals like this.

Anyway at this point I do agree with you that listening to them bitch is getting old fast. I mean if the free SOG's were in already and they still couldnt get in I'd say they had grounds to bitch, but as it is, the rest of us could still be a week or more before we get in worse case scenario.

i just remember reading something along the lines of..." Get an exclusive reserved spot in SoG and be one of the first pioneer's to reconquer ganareth when u pre order DnL"   not word for word, but something along those lines, and if I am correct then they just cant seem to stick with one idea hehe cuz i just read the FAQ also and there wording got a little mixed up.

do the settlers get heritage transfer? NO

    why are pioneers peeved?

the more delays we have, the less time we have working on the ancestor for the dnl character.  we did pay for that feature.  the settlers did not.  and they dont have heritage transfer.

part of what we paid for is in sog, the rest is for dnl.

do you understand the difference now?

I am a Pioneer....and no i don't want a refund....But i do think that the devs at DnL, should at least let us know why the servers are down....and for the 30mins i did get to play it don't look all that bad...they still have like 4 months to make it better.

Don't feel bad I just did a 2.5gig download of Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach Client for there stress test beta...and all there servers are down too...lol

I think I will go and play some NHL Hockey at least i know that that one will work...lol

First of all, it's not supposed to be a beta, according to NPCube. No bug feedback is expected, though, of course, the statistical data will prove useful as a sort of a stress test, as well as statistical data on player behaviour.

Secondly, I judge a product by its quality, not who designed it. If SoG will fail to entertain me as much as Everquest 2 currently does, I'll simply stop playing and that's about it. I see no purpose in supporting a game that I would not find entertaining. After all, there have been companies that started from the scratch and did succeed in making a good product (Funcom, CCP, Mythica). While I do admire the efforts of indies, others like Mourning and Irth Online are simply not capable of designing a good game. For SoG and DnL, I'll write a detailed post on my impressions later.

    Currently playing:
    * City of Heroes: Deggial, Assault Rifle/Devices Blaster. Server: Defiant.
    * City of Villains: Snakeroot, Plant/Thorns Dominator. Server: Defiant.

    Mythica was cancelled....

I disagree. I bet you anything that if either of those two games got the kind of infusion of $ that DnL got from those $60 order either of them would of finished off a good game. The DnL team is just a big POS no matter how much $ they have.

Are you still asleep? Mourning got a huge infusion of cash off pre-orders, they simply took the money and ran. If you know how credit cards work billing and recieving, you will know Mourning simply kept its server online just long enough to get its check for its credit card sales, then they simplly took the money and ran.

Not only that your a real goober if you think pre-order sales ever come close to being able to cover a fraction of development cost for any game out there. Bandwidth alone can bankrupt a project fast.

your wrong.. they only took around 800 orders of the game. Unlike dnl which took 8,000 for $60.  They didn't run anywhere... they shut down because they simply didnt have the capitol to finish it off properly.. if they took the kinda sales DnL did than they would of .

At the time I was kinda carrying on an online romance with one of the devs, having worked in the industry, having been overbilled for my preorder ( ordered 1 copy got billed for 3 ), and having spoken in depth with the comtroller's office overseeing the complaints and credit card fraud charges filled against them I kinda do have a unique perspective on what actually happened to mourning and who was actually responsible.

Mourning would have gone a whole different road if it had been managed properly, but the entire project was lacking mature leadership from the start.

Example, the overly attractive buxom young lady hired for the second floor to do  the English translations, who incidentially could not speak a single word of english. Although I have heard she kept the lead dev quite relaxed in his private office if you know what I mean.

Seriously though lets not even go there anymore it makes me shudder to think back on it.

We took like 800 preorders and we refunded like 100 of them (almost everybody that asked for a refund).

However now we are reinstalling the servers and we are strngly considering to give a free key to the pioneers of DnL to take a look over Mourning ;).

If you do a little homework and explore that german website carefully paying attention to dates of posts and beta dates you will see that was a site from this past year talking about things that have already happened or they intended to happen. Its not talking about a future release at least nowhere that I could find and I did run translation on alot of the posts.
