New Internal Hard Drive Not Working?

EvilMixEvilMix Member Posts: 251
Hi, I just got a new Western Digital internal hard drive, plugged in the Sata and power cable, it showed it's reading it at the boot up screen I believe, but when I go to my computer it just shows my SDD. Any ideas?

    needs formatting?

Right click My Computer. Click Manage. Go to Disk Management and see if it appears there.

How would I do that when it's not reading it? Switching it to my boot up Hard Drive?

Edit: It gave me an option to do something, I pressed it haha. Going to reboot and see if it reads it now.

Yep go into your control panel and go to device manager if it sees it then you have to turn the option to use it on. I will post a link to how here.

You also might have to go into your bios AIHC or OIHC for older SATA  drives sometimes wont recognice SSD drives (pick legacy or IDE) If you have SATA II or III your ok.

SRY NOT...OIHC...AIHC   but OHCI and AHCI (advanced host controller interface and open host controller interface)
