The first few hours of the game are no doubt awful. If you can manage to keep from putting a screwdriver through your eye for entertainment value and instead continue on, it gets a little better.
Lol...I couldn't make it past 12. It is just so much of the same with a dash of extra dull combat. OP is wildly overstating how bad this game is. It works and it runs smooth with good gfx. The design is just dull.
Been playing SWTOR since release, then quit about 2 months ago. I've been playing GW2 in the mean time to pass the time. Everything the OP doesn't like, I actually love, especially the Music score. How can you not like the Music?
Great game so far, Only lvl13 Gladiator, but it's all different that what I've been playing so it has that Fresh feel. I'm having fun, that's what is important to me.
Now I'm just going off the first 3 hours of EA since after that I went to bed but I had a blast. Did a couple dungeon runs, a couple guildhests, some quests, some fates, and talked with some linkshell members. What more should I expect from an MMORPG?
I've played many MMO's I know what I'm talking about , I said that right, Right?
If you enjoy running around a highly confusing instanced town for hours on end reading a barrage of meaningless text then this game is for you. And if you eventually find the exit then I hope the experience gets better. I doubt it. Meh
Meh the tutorial area isn't all that long, but I think it's clear you didn't get through it.

Did you ever consider the possibility that you are just bad at games? If you can't manage to complete the tutorial, how do you expect to progress in the rest of the game? (without being carried of course)
L2P then come back and voice your opinions. Until then you're just embarrassing yourself.
Originally posted by StarI I have to agree, after 15 years of MMOs and seeing loads of bad releases, this is the first time I didn't even receive early acces code from SE, so I can't even TRY to log in. Support is unresponsive past 2 days too. I guess the que is abnormal which tells a lot about scale of problems.
Did you pre-order from Square Enix's store? If so, go to findmyorder.com, enter the email and last five of the credit card used to order. That'll give you a code which you enter at http://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com/, which will give you the head start code.
It is far more complicated and obscure than it should be, but hopefully that helps.
What on earth is that site and why can they track my order and why would they give me a code instead SE?
Logged in. Character creation is nothing new. Then the dreaded cinematics of 'you are the hero' guff. After this the game went from bad to worse. The area is started in Old Guildania was just running from quest to quest in a heavily instanced home area. Badly designed cities made it all repetitive and confusing. After an hour i was dying of boredom. Even age of conan was more interesting.
Everyone looks like clones of each other. SWTOR deja vu!!!!
I have a high end system and wasn't amazed by the graphics even on high detail. To make matters worse the day/night cycles are so short like an hour . And i hate playing a game in such short cycles. Nighttime just feels so bland.
The map is dreadful so don't rely on it. The music score was plain awful. Was like being a a folk festival where you hate the singer. Like a bad version of LOTRO.
All in all ill give it 6 months before it crashes. Lucky i got my pre-order refunded. Another hype turkey bites the dust. Meh
Trollers said the same thing about FF11 back in 2003, oh and look, its still running P2P after all these years. FF14 is a good solid game that will last. This crappy review is like the idiots that don't know how to build a PC and the review ends up being something like this : "OMFG, Bought a pair of SSD, hooked them up raid 0, still running as slow as my IDE HDD, my mother board only supports SATA 1G and I'm too much of a monkey to upgrade my board for a new one that supports SATA 6G" So yea, keep on trolling, it's always a fun read!
I dont see what all the bickering is about, so someone doesnt like the game! WOW !!!!
I personally love it and have no desire to defend it.....just as the OP should stop defending his "opinion" All it turns out to be is a neverending battle of haters vs. fanboys......as usual. Why? Do you all love getting all worked up over nothing?
Heres some bait for both side (slides plate on the the floor).....ready.....FIGHT!

It may be that he is, but I'm guilty of logging into a game and looking at it for 10 minutes and logging off saying it sucked. I think we've all had that happen. I did it with Age of Wushu. I decided really fast is wasn't for me. But What I did not do, is go to the forums and create threads telling of how the game sucked based on my 10 minutes of exposure.
But yeah, I won't fault someone for not getting hooked right away.
The music score was plain awful. Was like being a a folk festival where you hate the singer.
Originally posted by Alberel Fortunately it's all your opinion and very few seem to share it. I take it you won't be posting here again now then. Good bye.
I'm with you Alberel. Played in the last beta and I enjoyed it a lot. I even gotta say it was the best themepark experience to date.
The only thing I agree on with OP is the one thing I picked out. Yeah, the music is dreadful at times. Same old FF tune all over again on repeat. Having played more FF games, it is a tune I've grown sick of by now. I really wish they'd pick something new for a change...
I dislike the game myself. I have to say if I would have made a thread like this, I would have been given a ban from the forums. So im glad someone was able to make a thread fo trash the game or at least raise an awareness that this is indeed a bad experience. I think its important to mention that this is a bad game because it will give p2p a bad rap, the issue isnt with p2p though, the issue is that the game just isnt very good. Consider yourself warned. (Just for good measure this comment is not trolling, I am simply commenting to create awareness for my fellow pc and console gamers, this game is bad and Iits giing to give p2p a bad name)

See how helpful that really is when you give 0 details. I'm fine if people not liking the game but just going around saying it's bad with 0 details does very little for anyone including the game it self since SE has really listened to feedback with ARR.
OK not really. If the topic upsets you so much, stop bumping it and it'll die all by itself. It is his opinion after all and it seems nothing you say will change that.
I played SWTOR for two flipping weeks () before declaring it my "worst MMO experience." Just saying.

Nope I'm pretty good at games. This game however has boring and poorly executed written all over it. The tutorial was dire.

even if he post any detail there will be xxxxx fanboys still defending it
starting with
"its still prelaunch there can be problems"
"game gets better at xx level"
"there will be pvp some day"
"map are not small and linear"
"its open world not instanced"
"its not clone wars"
"you are the hero of the land (with xxxx other heroes)"
and many other things like boring aka go kill xx mobs quests
I'm currently trying it out and i can honestly say its far from the worst experience to date "glances over to FF XIV 1.0 Collectors Edition box"
Well thats not fair either, i've had worse experiences in MMOs, i can't remember names, but alot of hose f2p copy/paste, made in 3 weeks games iv'e tried brilliantly steals worst mmo experience.
Let's get something straight, this isn't a revolution, it's Everquest inspiried Final Fantasy game made for consoles, not saying that is bad, it's actually quite enjoyable and nails what it's trying to do.
With all the new mechanics and ideas coming with new MMOs today this one sticks to the DnD formula with a dash of "modern" implemetations like multiclass.
I'm getting off track here, i get that alot of people expect more out of new MMOs, i surely do aswell, but for what it is, and for what they know and told us it is, it isn't bad, it's actually quite good.
If this is seriously your "Worst MMO experience to date" i have no words for you, i'll just stay in the corner looking condesending at you while twirling my mustache
Skip all the fedex quests in town. Just do the minimal amount, to where you get your first class quest and your inn quest. Then leave and go kill stuff.. return to town every 5 levels. That is all.
I played in beta as well and I made it past level 15 with dual class and there are more things about this game lacking for me than making me want to play more.
1. Music - agreed - dreadful.
2. Global Cool-down on combat, this just makes it almost like turn based without calling it turned based.
3. Armor - running around in a puffy Seinfeld (like) chest piece with oven mitts as gloves and a speedo for leg armor with some high leather boots (yes this is a male character) just wasn't cutting it for me.
Graphic quality was great, characters were pretty generic looking (but that's the case in many games).
I made it past level 15 and truthfully, that's where the grinding aspect started. Some folks like that type of game, some don't. As I mentioned in another post, there is a market for this type of game and folks will like it.
But, the idea behind beginning levels is not only for tutorial purposes, there is an intent to have people become attached to their characters and look forward to progression. In my opinion, this is not the case with this game.
Releasing a game that make it hard for whatever reason to get out of the tutorial phase is not really a good idea for growth of the customer base. I wish the game and players well but it's just not my cup of tea.
I don't know any other MMO where I've pointlessly ran for over an hour in a badlydesigned instanced city doing stupid quests. . So yes it's my worst experience. Truly mind numbing . Thanks
The people that like the game don't care because they are in-game right now. At least you have an ample choice of games to play besides this one. I personally hated GW2 yet i love this game which is weird because they are very similar. Just enough of it is different in the right ways for me i guess.
^ also i was out of the "tutorial" of 1-15 in a few hours. If you cant read a map to find your way out of a city then this is not the game for you. And here i was thinking they had simplified things.

Also, the graphics are BEAUTIFUL. Not only that but I still get 90 fps with them. Can't beat that.
