Objectively this game is a dumbed down, simplified and pretty post WoW clone. There is nothing really remarkable about it.
Anytime there's a new MMORPG you're going to have people carrying on like it's the best thing ever. See how people feel 1-2 months from now.
At the very least, it's a new MMORPG to experience and play for a few weeks/months at least before getting back to "waiting for the next big thing" mode.
Premium MMORPGs do not feature built-in cheating via cash for gold pay 2 win. PLAY to win or don't play.
For non FF fans, a lot of the addictiveness has to do with the animations (very flashy and beautiful, althought not very fluid) and the music( very enthralling), but once you look past the shiny paint you'll find that it's a good game but ultimately very bland and frankly, not worth abandoning your investment in other MMORPGs to switch over.

I've never played a FF game. I haven't played this game. I'm asking for people to discuss why they like or are hyped about the game...so I can see what all the fuss is about.

Well I don't know if you despise it or not but I kinda got a feeling you used your question to troll a little by some derogatory comments about your impressions of what you know of the game so far, based on what I don't know.
