So....Refund

strellokstrellok Member Posts: 48

I requested refund on the first day of open beta and all I got was a link to a page with basically no text only button "cancel ticket".

No response. Then I made another ticked asked for a reply and was asked why I want a refund so they can assist me further. Okay... answered their answer and again, no response.

What The Hell

Can anybody tell me if they actually send money back?

You have three options my friend:

    1) Wait. They are launching the game and at their busiest time ever. Their CS team is probably swamped with work.

    2) Do a charge back. This will get you your money back, but it will most likely get you your account permanently banned (if you care).

    3) Threaten to go to the BBB. If that doesn't get their attention then they deserve the bad rating.

Most companies don't care about the BBB (Been proven companies can just pay to get As) so I wouldn't bother with that option. If you don't care what happens to your account do a charge back. Customer service will likely take a week or more.

    Thanks for the input.

From what Ive read on PayPal it takes 75-100 days for banks to make chargeback. Wil wait a bit longer and will see what happens.

Thought this was a classy company though. Its system and staff is pretty poor.

My little advice: dont preorder and especially not from square enix.

Square has the worst CS period. All of their CS resources are JP. I played ffxi for 8+ years and it was a common thing to joke about.

The problems the game had are (so far) fixed. But there are undoubtedly thousands of tickets still in their system, some unlike yours I'm sure. I would just tell you what you already know "They'll get to you, when they get to you".

Thank you for contacting the Square Enix Support Centre.

We are sorry to hear you wish to cancel your Store order.

Unfortunatley, there is no update on your refund request at this time as we are very busy.

We will get back in touch as soon as there is an update for you.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

This is what I got. After 10 days after my refund request. I probably have to wait a month or what.

Oh well, better try to contact paypal and see what they can do.

Do a chargeback under you didnt receive services as promised

Any graphical, audio, or gameplay restrictions not seen in other mmos but found in FFXIV can be blamed on one thing.

I can't tell you, but in my very humble opinion, I would just give it another shot. After the first couple of hours I've personally had no problems. All games have problems at launch, and this one is not different, except I feel they have fixed the problems much faster. Maybe it's just for me though.

Can I ask you a personal question? Why did you preorder this game? I very doubt that you were aware what were you buiyng. NONE of my guild members (about 60 ppl) have canceled purchase and want money back because of EA glitches. I guess you are not a FF fan (as me) and didn't play any betas, didn't you? But as opposed to me, it seems you don't understand present situation, though.

I just wish players with no real intention of playing a given mmorpg stop BSing themselves by preordering. But I guess they enjoy the conflict they cause themselves when they feint ignorance about the game they are throwing money at.

Well, I asked paypal and they returned me full price.

I get upset when services are not working as intended (and wouldnt let them have money for no reason). I believe it might be a great game for lots of people. When there was a lot of hype with new mmo with sub fees, one can get really excited. To my surprise, it seemed the marketing made it seem like a better game than it actually is (quit playing 1st day open beta).

Same goes for TESO. They wont be outstanding games, but only good. Preordering was my mistake.

You two do know your on a site for MMORPGs, its even the name of it.

Im sorry i just dont feel any sympathy for the OP.  Pre-ordering on a whim is kinda iffy, but the fact you cancel while during the Head-Start is kinda wtf are you doing as a consumer.  Just because someone coined the phrase the customer is always right doesnt mean the customer is free from personal responsibility.

Sure you could blast square for not giving you a refund right when you demand it when you know there in a very busy moment.

Just as Square could blast you for purchasing a pre-order and taking advantage of there offers  like beta spot and early access that was designed as gifts for there fans or push hesitant fans to take a risk.

(Those are assuming both of you didnt use "pre-order" in a scam like manner. You trying to get something for free and SE trying to hussle people. But im assuming your both just innocent parties within this transaction)
