The German newpaper "Die ZEIT" has published an article, saying the German Government has officially warned from using Windows 8. (No, this is no joke.) The warning was more issued towards the official agencies. The main reason quoted was that Windows 8 has NSA backdoors for espionage.
"Windows 8 is an unacceptable security risk for companies and authorities, experts warn the government. The so-called Trusted Computing is a back door for the NSA."
See a Google Translate version here:
Just last year the German Government has given an official warning not to use MS Internet Explorer, for similar reasons, that it was not secure.

w7 sp1 (kb976932) has a dhs backdoor.
yeah, but nobody did know the madness what secret services are doing currently to other friendly countries. Trusted computing seems to be not just a simple backdoor. This is still a government warning.
Windows 8 sucks anyway and I did install win7 again after I did test it for some weeks.
At first the government actually didn't have backdoors, instead they used operating system exploits to install viruses like Magic Lantern onto the target's computers (when they opened a selected webpage (often Yahoo Mail) the person's ISP would add the virus to the web page making it appear that's where the virus came from).
Germany would never use or benefit from such programs and were completely ignorant of them.. Political bullshit for the masses. Any country saying that they don't have any ambition to create the exact same sort of programs as PRISM are not telling the truth. If any of them say they have not knowingly benefited from such programs and did not know of their existence 1. not an ally 2. Full of crap.
I don't know how people can believe that their own country would never be interested in such programs or that they would never have any ambition to create a similar program of it's own. That is if they don't already have such a program. What's Tempora again? Never heard of it? Odd..
Oh never mind it's election season Germany. Sorry just an ignorant American that didn't know. Never mind me.
That said: Not a whole lot of choice as far as operating systems go. Unless of course Germany is going to develop it's own hack proof OS (sarcasm).
