Hi,
So I finally got time to sit down and try ARR today.
I'm finding that the crafting window is much better now, however, inventory management has gotten worse since 1.0. I can't seem to wrap my mind around the grid-based inventory system with all the various items and windows. Going through 7 tabs with 25 icons in each looking for 3 specific ingredients, I almost forget what I'm looking for after a while.
I've only found one place in Gridania to summon my retainer and I can't seem to figure out where the markets are now.
Furthermore, while this was the same in 1.0 of course, there's no way to easily look up what my retainer(s) have in their inventory without going there to summon them?
Don't get me wrong, I think it's fine that crafting is complex - but I'm not enjoying that most of the complexity and grief is actually provided not by the fact that you have to go out and gather ingredients; but that you have to spend a ridiculous amount of time messing around in the UI before you can craft...
I haven't had any luck finding options that will help.
Any tips from more experienced players out there? Stuff/options I've missed?

Every marketplace has a retainer bell in it - so that's a hint as to where the markets are.
And you have a retainer bell inside the inn (which is in each adventurer station).
Each city state has it's own market and economy. Your able to buy low, transport, and sell high if your crafty about it.
As far as the UI goes - learn about macros, they are a lifesaver for trivial combines. A quick google search should bring up some excellent examples.
Yeah I finally figured out the markets instances have been swapped out with boards, and found the board in Gridania, thanks:)
No amount of macros will however address any of the UI shortcomings.
search through the options and turn on auto sorting. It helps a lot.
Character Configuration > Control Settings > Character Tab > Auto-sort Inventory [on]
