world currently full?

in Final Fantasy XIV

Keeps telling me world is full and to wait for an opening

is there a place where I can check if there is an opening? why no queue?

    haven't been able to log all day, i've gotten into the queue system twice and have been kicked out of the queue system both times saying that the world was full.  this queue system is a joke...

    It's been an issue.  They are trying to handle it but the problem is we have too many AFK players.  Other than that the constantly full servers are a testament to how good the game is when you actually manage to get on.

    There was a big queue, but it broke during Early Access. So they cut the queue way down (like 150 people or so) until they could get it fixed.

    It still hasn't been fixed. So if you aren't lucky enough to get into the queue, you just get 1017'ed.

    As far as I know, there is no way to tell if a server is "Full" or not.

    Why haven't they opened any new servers?  It's hard enough to get into your server, if you have any new friends that want to join you on your current server it's impossible because they aren't letting new players create toons on these high pop servers.

    This is of course assuming that the actual number of people on the server is "many".

    In early access when I got on the world was full and people were everywhere.  Since they have restricted numbers, and when I was on yesterday, the world was very empty.  

    Who knows how many people there are on and how many are left waiting for this "good game".

    By the way, I cant get on at all nor can I make a toon on a different server that isnt full.

    Sorry, but I call this a fail.

    They should have an AFK timer (like every other mmo). After a few minutes AFK you are automatically logged out of the game. This can help a little bit.

    I think enough people have called for an AFK timer that they will implement it, probably soon.

    Well, I am trying for the last 20-30min to get into the game, just spam the login button, got in the queue twice, now I am in the game /cheers.
