Not even going to pay a sub if I have to wait in line not even a que just a world is full mssg non stop all day today I havent gotten to play at all. they crazy even on launch day this was like this in early access I played 1 of the few days of early access due to server down non stop or always world full mssg.
Would think they would have had more servers ready for launch but it never seems to fail all mmos never have enough ready to go...and limiting the amount on a server is crazy so basically I bought a game I cannot even get into...yeah im bitching but I did pay to be able to play and so far that is not happening.

Even this makes me mad, you were very fortunate to get in after an hour I have not been able to get on for 48 hours now and this is with me spamming enter for 2-4 hours at a time. ........ Yea..... I am not amused.
oh man do i feel your pain. About the same here. I am just hoping for a shot at free transfers off of Balmund to....somewhere else. I don't want to leave because it has an amazing community, but i want to play badly. Game kicks ass but not a whole lot of us are getting to play at all.
Killing dragons is my shit
Can't be, how could a game with a 5.1 review from these accredited critics on this website be the only MMO on their list with full servers that you can't log into?
/facepalm
Because the game itself is really good, smooth and seemingly bulletproof play (unusual for a game at launch). It's the server tech that (currently) bows chunks and is giving the whole game a black eye.
This.
Also, the 5.1 rating is for the original 1.0 version of "FFXIV." They haven't done an official "FFXIV: ARR" review yet since it just (re)launched today. I'm sure we'll get an official review within the next few weeks. Hopefully after the launch craziness is over with.
Something is not right with this queue thing. Not just the error, I mean not only was I number 140+ when I got in (which isnt very high to be kicking people to start menu on purpose), but it was over in under a minute. Isnt making much sense to me.
the server cap restriciton put in place broke the q
Yeah EU for sure got the shaft here. NA doesn't have these issues. The only people complaining on the NA servers are people on some of the completely full servers who cant roll alts right now (not sure why you would need to this early in the game with all the multi classing ect)
There still are a few NA servers that have 1-5min queues during peak times.
I do feel sorry for the EU folks though, they have so few servers to begin with. Heard a rumor that new servers are coming next week perhaps...sadly the damage is done.
This and the EA travesty with codes and zero communication ( I think there still has yet to be any form of communication to the NA/EU market) have done a lot of harm to the game...which is sad because the game itself is flawless (if you like this type of game its one of the best if not the best out right now...and that type is a themepark with progression I guess...people will complain of grind because you need to level up multiple classes ect per character)
I still think the game is going to do alright, even with the subscription. If you don't mind instanced world (not divided into shards but load screens between maps and city levels ect) and are not scared of progression and some minor complexity...I would certainly jump in once they get new servers.
Even when the servers are marked full the game runs smooth...probably because they are limiting access and set the bar a bit low on the server cap...either way you are literally swimming in people no matter where you are...which is nice.
For those who get the 1017 error...I found that if you spam log in...eventually you get into a queue...waiting and trying every few minuets or hours isn't the way to do it. It feels like a bug almost, because realistically...everyone should get a queue spot.
There is currently no kick for being inactive or afk. There are many inconsiderate players that are not logging out for fear of not being able to get back in. Hopefully the added servers and Dungeon Finder modifications will help ease the population strain. Otherwise people need to log out when they're done playing. Give someone else a chance.
That information doesnt help anyone since anyone that doesnt already have a character on goblin is blocked from creating one.
I don't think you can blame players for not wanting to log out. Sitting there at a "world full, try again later sucker" screen is a pain in the ass and if you're unfortunate enough to have speakers or sound coming out from your monitor, it's completely ruining the nostalgic memories of that iconic FF music.
