Sounds like someone is a little cranky cause they didn't get their fix today.  I recommend a 12-step program.

so far ive been able to get ingame within 5 mins by spamming enter every time i wanted to go on.  while not perfect so far ive gotta say the netcoding seems very well done there is almost no lag and large numbers of players handled smoothly.  its a temporary fix but in beta 4 all instances were breaking down so at least those in can progress now.  i say the greater fault lies with the players who are idling all day or playing for 5-10 or more hours each day and not giving others a chance.  also there is weak grounds for seeking any reparations here because the server is not full you can get in if you try.  i gotta say ive been having fun and staying on probably close to 4 or 5 hours these last few days myself but will be slowing down soon, hoping not to rush through and that there will be enough updates / 'endgame' besides leveling other classes and crafting to merit a subscription.

If you don't get my comparison, don't strain yourself bro it's alright.

They have taken in more money for a service from more people than they can provide the service to, that is a simple fact.

But they're not holding your money within an iron grasp.  This would be more applicable "We're sorry sir, we unintentionally put up for sale more tickets than were seats available.  You're more than welcome to watch the film at another date or we could issue a refund.  We're willing to do everything we can to rectify the issue.  Also as an additional bonus the film will be available to you for viewing for 29 more days and the movie will change each time to provide you a unique experience.  Again we apologize for the inconvenience."

It's not as if the opportunity has vanished just because of an initial mishap.  You're still going to get to see your movie.

We will see what SE does for those of us who have had next to no play time if any at all. Still I am not personally upset, I have come to expect this kind of thing although I don't agree with it but watching everyone get pissed off to the point where they are trying to say the company should be sued for undetermined downtime or restricting of access while the servers are being overloaded so they can rectify the issue.

Like in the example I originally made, there is gonna be and angry mob no matter how professional it is handled by the company that is having to turn away (even in only temporarily) people that already dished out their money, some people will not want a refund they will want what they paid for when it was said it was going to be given to them and I can't fully blame them for that.

I see both sides of this whole thing, people have to calm down and companies need to make more realistic goals over all.

    THAT IS ILLEGAL!

    No it its not!

Due to technical limitations, and in order to avoid too dense population within the gameworld, all multiplayer games have character caps on servers. It's standard industry practice, and there's a valid reason behind those caps, so nothing illegal.

You can argue all you want that SE should let all their 100 000+ log at once on a single server and make it work, but that's just unreasonable. Arguing that they should allow it until problems arise is equally unreasonable, they have obligation to limit the characters to such level that they believe their server will stay functional without any problems.

EDIT: However, if you can't play at all then SE has failed to provide you the service required. There's a certain tolerance, but generally if the situation lasts close to a day then SE is required to compensate /EDIT

Oh wow, this is so funny. Is it april fools already? Someone threatening to sue over a company limit access to prevent further issues.

The moment you instal and accept the terms of acceptance you agreed with their policy.
They can basicly delete all accounts on day one if that was in their terms of agreement and you dont have 1 leg to stand on.

But who cares about players leaving on day one anyway, those are mostly the kind of people that leave anyway.

it sucks that FF has some launch problems but anyone who played a few mmo's at launch know this shit happens.
No exceptions, some worse then others and in a week all if fine and dandy again.
