Well, I'm havin fun, what about you guys?
-I just bought 99 pots of sap, I didn't realize they made 3 syrups each so I just need to buy around 40. too bad there is no sellback haha.
-cooking is fun
-storyline mode is actually holding me back from leveling further haha, FATES are great and cheap exp. I kinda was against them, but now, well I've seen their cheap upside. I've joined the herd haha
-at what point can we not turn back from our GC? I just ranked up like 3 times.
-porting is expensive
-I don't have enough space, even with my retainer, guess ill get a 2nd one and put all my junk in there
Can you guys in the U.S. servers play yet? If not, come to Bahamut (JP), I'm under the name "Time Trapper", send me a message or mail, I can cook you some stuff, and help you level.
Best regards,
Timetrapper

Im having a blast, logging in can be a pain but Ive been fortunate enough to get on in just a few tries.
Best mmo to come out in a long long time. I love logging on and being overwhelmed with things to work on with my character.
I'm addicted. That is saying a lot considering I wasn't expecting much from this game.
As for the login issues... Anyone with any amount of persistence can get past it. The whiners are people who just throw up their hands and pout at the first "server is full" message.
I have never 'once' not been able to get on.
I wake up after I began playing, heading for work and all I can think about is the game. this feeling was never there, I was merely a robot doing the same exact tasks every day.
But this game while I already thought it would be great, surpassed the expectation on every level minus the servers. SE was aiming to catch a big fish but caught THE whale instead.
Aside from the fun factor, Again, it is the little thing that makes it just very convenient for me, for example the looting of mobs is fully auto with no need to check every single monster you kill. the ability to do instances or fates with your freinds even if they are 20 levels lower automatically by the syncing system... oh yea and the obviously awesome system to change your job/class on the go, while having almost infinite amount of storage.
I stay around 10-15min on the log in screen before being able to log on, and as soon as I log in I just forget all the frustration 15min ago and start to play.
-at what point can we not turn back from our GC?
This is from official forum.
Greetings,
It's possible to change Grand Companies, but you need to be the proper rank to do so. Once reaching the rank of Second (Storm/Serpent/Flame) Lieutenant, you'll be able to switch to a different Grand Company.
For those of you coming back to the game from 1.0 and have reached the time when you need to select your Grand Company, please be aware that if you choose a different Grand Company from that which you belonged to during 1.0, you will start from the bottom rank and have to work your way up.
After reaching Second (Storm/Serpent/Flame) Lieutenant and you make a decision to go back to your original Grand Company, the rank you attained with that Grand Company will be restored.
Emergency maintenane right now. And yeah, I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove crafting + gathering. I am intending to level all gathering + crafting professions to lv50 (except culinerian XD).
I did the math and a list over all ingredients I need to collect to craft all recipies from level10-30 in all crafting professions except culinerian. (Yes, I am playing self-found, and yes I could probably do quicker if I used market). I am starting of course by doing the gathering part with miner/fisher/botany, then moving over to crafting aspect:P.
Of course, I am a major FF fan and I read every single bit of information. I love the music, I love the atmosphere. I am not rushing, I am taking things very easy; it is no competition. This is not a min-max game; other games like Path of Exile is XD.
My main is my spearman, but my god, I will make sure I craft all gear for him :P.
Most memorable games: AoC(Tryanny PvP), RIFT, GW, GW2, Ragnarok Online, Aion, FFXI, FFXIV, Secret World, League of Legends (Silver II rank)

Game is ok for me, I find the graphics a bit blah, but that's not the most important part of a game.
The combat on the other hand at level 15 still feels pretty slow and boring, I looked at my future skills and seems pretty uneventful
I am having some fun when I can play. So I will keep learning the game, and keep levelling, see where it goes.
Strange, i love the graphics

Having a blast. Been able to play fine the last two days with a tiny log in effort of maybe 5 min.
The game is not perfect but I am still really enjoying it and will most likely stick with it for the long haul.
Things I love- The class system, crafting, tons to do so you can quickly change activities if you are bored, pretty good community from what I see so far, of course FF nostalgia, sub based community, traditional class roles. Eff yeah!
Things I don't love- The game world is TINY, newbie armor is hideous, some of the world textures lack detail (my opinion).
Overall pretty good game, I really like that it isn't gimmicky like all the latest releases, no action combat, not claiming to be the second coming of christ. Totes enjoying it and I haven't rly been able to play any newer mmo for years.
I am enjoying my playtime a great deal. During OB I ran up to a little LaLaFell and complained about the noise a little guy can make (we were mining in the same region). I added him to my friends list and after an hour or two of chatting the servers went down (ob over)
After the ea started he saw me playing, invited me to his LS and I've been meeting a handful of folks who are friends of his over the last couple of days. All seem like pretty decent guildmates and I decided to join the FC which was being finalized last night ( I was so tired I had to log but I'll join today)
A couple of evenings I wanted to get on and was hit by the world full errors and a queue would be most appreciated but otherwise I am having fun and looking forward to the next couple of months at the least.
It's probably one of the best optimized mmos to date.
I'm having fun.
It a little frustrating sometimes specially yesterday in uldah trying to level pugilist in a new town and receiving quests at around lvl 10 but to complete them you must be lvl 18 >_> BUT there fates, hunting logs and leves at least to gain some exp.
People are now chatting instead of silence everywhere like in the first few days of early access.
Yesterday there were so many topics being said by people like:
- People saying SE should have not released the game on the ps3 and waited for the ps4 version because the graphics are subpar while others not agreeing.
- Console wars as usual.
- About how building a good pc doesn't require loads of money contrary to what some people say (And for the first time the majority were agreeing apart of some people playing on consoles as usual)
- Mocking people naming their characters with surname strife, lockheart or some other final fantasy character and how strange that there isn't a single sepiroth yet. (Or I haven't seen it yet)
- And other stuff.
That happened in 1 map, eastern thanalan or something like that.
It was fun.
Same here. I'm hoping we get the Thief job added in at some point!
Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?
Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.
No, it's not.
I am enjoying this game immensely so far, it sort of crept up on me from Beta 3 onwards. This is a game I really didn't have any expectations for but thought I'd give it a shot and was that ever the right decision because I haven't felt this way since vanilla WoW. And in-game just when I think I'll continue one class to max level I get sidetracked with other class, gathering or crafting things to do that draw my attention away.
Does the game have some warts, yes it does, I doubt there will ever be a game that will be all things to all people, but from what I've seen so far I can easily forgive them those things I may not agree with due to there being so many positive things to keep me playing. A mighty achievement that Yoshi-P and the SE team have done to change that FFXIV Version 1 prickly caterpillar into the FFXIV ARR butterfly they have given us. Oh dear I think I've become a fanboy .... noooooo.
