EVE Online: 18K PCU Broken

EVE Online continues to put up impressive numbers in terms of Peak Concurrent Users. It seems as though recently, the announcements are coming more and more frequently as this game continues to gain popularity, testing their servers. What makes these numbers interesting is the fact that these players are online with each other, inhabiting the same game world.

18k Peak Concurrent User barrier broken

At 20:33 on Sunday evening (2005.12.04) EVE players broke their own Peak Concurrent Player (PCU) record with 18.148 playing at the same time.

    with titans and 39 new ships xoming in 2-3 weeks i can see it will break 20k before the new year lol

    Thank God that the drone modifications and the manufacturing modifications are coming with RMR to combat the coming lag with all these new players.  The sad thing is I just had to cancel my account.  Anyone looking for a good everything corporation should check out Penumbra Squadron.  Tell them Engar Anduve sent you.  They're a part of the Forsake Empire so there always seems to be a war going on.  I think the recruitment channel is "Darkness meets Light".

    I was on then, there was no lag to speak of, which is suprising, i guess that the hardware upgrade they recently did works great.

    It's funny to me that EVE's content expansion is as vast as most mmo's full expansion..... And EVE's full expansion is like most mmo's full game..... and it's.... free....  image

    Red Moon Rising the the bomb baby... will bring balance so much needed now and features players been dying for since day 1 of EvE

     

    PCU is about 19.5K now , so it was when a corp member logged in on Sunday
