At least we can all take time to create our ideal characters for later and save the customization. I'm having a blast just creating the character, I haven't gotten in at all yet to play. Now I just need to find names for them. I've decided to create Sea wolf clan warrior type tank. I've never played final fantasy before and so far I quite like the way they've done the character creation. The races look odd at first but then I found they're quite nice. I've been reading up on lore too, and wow there is a lot too take in on that.

How are you ladies and gents finding the game so far (if you're lucky enough to get in)?

Make sure to check that you have the correct voice when transferring the benchmark data to the game.  There are cases where it gave you a different voice and some had to restart because of it.

Aside from that, it's been great as expected.  It's a JRPG before it's a MMORPG, so a lot of those elements don't translate well to people expecting the MMO portion to come first.  The main thing I like is that the main story is continuous and you don't have to wait five levels to continue it in most cases (post level 10 or so).  It just goes on and on without you having to grind (unlike in SWTOR or GW2 whereby they had gaps of 5+ levels at times).  Though this strength is also a weakness, as there are reports of people getting fatigued by level 40 with all the story quests what with how much experience is required to level then.

The story itself is pretty realistic as well (in terms of how it's conducted and pans out).  Whereas things are conducted behind the scenes in a single player game, you fully flesh them out here.  Like if you're in an investigation, you actually conduct it in whole, from getting bad clues to being sent on a wild goose chase before getting hot on the trail again.  It could last an entire level, even post thirty before you actually solve the case.

The weather is amazing as well; if you sit in the forest during a lightning storm... you can actually see the lightning crashing down, the thunderous roar, and the immediate area flashing twice.  If you see it in the distance, you see that distant area flash as well.  Then there is pretty much always something to do, and dozens of systems and prerequisites before getting to other systems, which lead to other systems that have currency for this, and that... etc.  You could quite literally get to max level and not noticed you missed things such as unlocking chocobos or chocobo fighting (as the game stops holding your hand at around level 15 for the most part).

The difficulty ramps up significantly as well, depending on your class.  If you're looking for an interesting time, or want to help people, you could go to level 20+ areas where Arcanists do their quests and just watch them return back on the floor after just being beaten senseless and then revive them.  I'm getting an old FFXI vibe with people asking for resurrections every couple minutes in level 30+ areas due the the sharp incline in difficulty some are having.

Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing).  German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century.  Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now).  I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things).  In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while.  If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.

Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this.  If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own.  Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis.  Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.

A friend of mine told me about the weather system. Looking forward to be logging in later.

I've had a look at the Jobs you get and I quite like the paladin and shadow mage. Though for a Gladiator a paladin would be more suited for it. Those little guys I've decided to make for giggles and they seem best suited for wizard type. I like the sound of back tracking roles, I guess it works like mentoring in Rift and everquest.
