Can i walk from hub to hub?

in Final Fantasy XIV

Title says it. Do you guys know if this is possible? i just want to go explore to a new land (gridania,Ul'dah,Limsa)

without taking transportation.

    I remember guild mates saying that they got to other cities around lvl 6 by walking (since the airship doesnt open until the lvl 15 story quest).

    Gridania <-> Central Shroud <-> South Shroud <-> Eastern Thanalan <-> Hmm Central? Or was it Western Thanalan <-> Ul'dah

    Not sure about Limsa, don't think there is a direct way to there.

    thx, i want to get a good feel for the size of the game, I dont think its as big as ffxi when it launched in America, but we will see.
