Did the digital lockout also block physical game purchase for PS3?

in Final Fantasy XIV

Trying to figure out how to play cross platform with the same account.  I have my digital copy from Amazon registered and have been playing fine, when I can get in obviously.  

I bought the physical copy for PS3 today and tried to log in, figuring it would ask me for the product code.  But it gives me a warning:

 

'No valid service account is available to play FFXIV.

In order to play FFXIV, you must purchase the digital download from the PSN or register a product code."

 

So I am confused, is this because of the current block on digital purchase? Or am I just missing where to register my PS3 copy?

    Nevermind....figured it out.  Forgot that you have to register the code under Account Management on the XMB.

    Wait.  Are you saying I can play on the same character on the PS3 as I do on my laptop if I have a licensed copy for each?  That would be handy if I sometimes want to play on the TV rather than on my lap.

    Yep! You can put a PS3 FFXIV service on your PC account.

    I did.
