FFXIV ARR VOICE CHAT what do you think.?

Do u think putting a built in voice chat option will be better for FFXIV rather than getting it outside the game.  A lot of us really wanted to talk rather than chat and a lot of players either don't know how to download and use them or just totally lazy to do it.  I would really love to see that option in game.

A lot of games should adopt this, but never do. Its a little sad that the MMO Franchise is yet to do it 100% of the time. Some do, just not the few most people play.

I hate it when doing some dungeon runs or asking questions you have to type to instruct them if you are doing it without a Guild and etc.  Its nice to talk to them anytime in game without asking them do they have sk**pe etc just to talk to them.  Most guilds they make there own channels in voice chats and a requirement to join their guild also. where it is better just to invite them to talk in the game if they accept your request.  Most dungeon runs you do it with new players then the typing begins haha.

I refuse to play Team oriented FPS games without some kind of VOIP.

It is strange that I don't adopt that same ideal when playing MMORPG's, as team coordination in dungeons can be just as important. Every MMORPG should come with voice chat. Every area should have a built in option to talk to the individuals in that area. The same should go for dungeons, raids, etc. I realize that there are other means, Ventrillo, Team Speak, etc, but having to use outside programs only takes away from the 'individual game experience'.

I doubt we will ever see this though. It would just mean more monthly sinks on the game developers part. As they would now not only need servers to run the game, but servers to house the amount of voice traffic they would be getting. You could just limit it to dungeons I guess. Again, it still is a money sink that companies feel isn't necessary. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

it is nice when companies offer in game voip. I havent used any of them because when i use voip i use third party software that i know work well (usually TS3 and Raidcall. And steam when playing with friends). Ive heard many people saying that in game voip are usually inferior than third party software but i havent tried them myself.

I have team speak for my Guild,

HOWEVER no one ever uses it if built into the game anyway, I played a few mmos that had it and it was always the case. If you get a group and the group insist on everyone be on it, no one ever puts the time into setting it up then you spend a half hour helping people with it. The next group same thing over again.

D&D Online was the only mmo that really worked well and everyone did use it. Now this is before it went F2P, and all went down hill from their !
