I picked Gridania. Love the story, love the city.

    Same here, the city and forest look amasing, the whole atmosphere is just breath taking.

    That and.. the forest and city lay out are pleasant to travel through.. god I hate to navigate throughLimsa lominsa's city layout

    I agree!! I hate limsa lominsa lol....I like the easy traveling through Gridania

    Started in Ul'dah in the first version of the game.  Though this time around I pick all three cities, as I have two alts in addition to my old character from the past.

     

    As a whole I probably enjoy Limsa the best in terms of atmosphere and the places it takes you.  Though Gridania is pretty good as well, especially since there are Moogle in the starting cutscene.  Kupo!

    Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing).  German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century.  Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now).  I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things).  In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while.  If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.

    Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this.  If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own.  Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis.  Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.

    Gridanian treehuggin cat here!  I chose it because I love the setting and it's also where I want to purchase a house someday :)

    Tried all the starting cities in P3.  Fell in love with Ul'dah :D.

    i picked The Maelstrom but as soon as i joined it the game crashed and now i cant play... on main screen i hit start and the character/server screen shows empty with only a "quit" button..... 

    i call bs. Maybe it is a sign that Maelstrom isnt for me? lol

     

    EDIT: its fixed, nvm ill stay with the Maelstrom :D love the pirate theme, the maps, etc

    Fiancee and I are going Maelstrom I mentioned pirates and didn't get to finish explaining the other two grand companies. =P

    I went Maelstrom. Gridania seemed ok if I was playing more of a fayish character but did seem fit for my hulking marauder. Ul'dah reminded me of steriod jock posers I grew up with. Also, I probably grew slightly attached to Maelstorm as Limsa was my toons home city.

    I think I will be going Immortal Flames because my main will be a white mage. I believe the different houses favour different stats.

    Maelstrom in Limsa Lominsa. I just love the atmosphere of the ocean harbor type city.

    Best thing about Gridania? THERES NO UPPER OR LOWER LEVELS!!!! lol oh and it feels like im at summer camp when im there. Just a relaxing place to be
