I'm getting that same error to, where my character wont show up. When I first launched the game I got the error 2002 could not connect to loby server. Then when I relaunched the game I started getting cannon find NA thing.
My start button is greyed out and keep getting an error that says that the game couldn't connect to the lobby (error 2002) and get booted out of the client. I tried the dnsflush to no avail.
Anyone know a workaround to this issue? It's been ongoing for about 30 minutes, with me checking in every 5 minutes or so.
Tried to log in and got to see my 2 characters, but as expected around this hour (5:50 pm european time) the world was full and kept kicking me back to the start menu. So I figured might as well try and make a new alt on another server and hope some are open for new characters. It turned out two NA servers were open for creation, but when I finished my new alt and wanted to start the game I got the lobby error others already mentioned and kicked out of the game completely.
Now when I start the game I get the world is full message until I get the lobby error again to kick me out. I never even get to see any of my characters, let alone try to get into any server.
I don't mind startup issues with new mmo's. Well... "don't mind" is a bit too friendly so let me just say I expect them by now. However when servers have a huge queue you can at least see how long it could take to wait, sometimes 30 minutes, other times 12 hours depending on how huge and badly managed the serverside of the launch is handled.
I have never seen the method used here before. The queue when you finally do get in is usually a matter of seconds or minutes at the most, but to see the queue you have to get into it first and you just get the annoying world is full error and kicked back to the start menu...and now adding the lobby error followed by a crash to desktop better known and feared by the simple, yet very hated 3 letters: CTD.
Bloody annoying that with this system you have no idea whatsoever how long you have to wait to get in, so today I probably just give up.
The biggest problem with this system is that people, myself included half the time, don't dare to log off when they stop playing to have dinner or whatever kind of longer break you want to take because once out, you are out! Resulting in a whole lot of afk players making it even harder for others to play.
TL;DR version: startup problems are to be expected, but the system in place atm is terribly annoying.
Yup, definitely giving up now. Now the start button also stays greyed out followed by the lobby error CTD. Ah well, *looks at all the symbols on his desktop* plenty of other games to choose from. Maybe I will try out Prison Architect and pretend the server guys from FFXIV are the prisoners! *sets the most strict policies* MUHAHAHA! 24/7 lockdown for them! *grins*
About 2-hours ago I tried to login. I received the error that it couldn't show the NA/EU servers. Shortly after the START button was grayed out. 30-minutes later I could see my character but the world was full.
I finally managed to get to he load screen. But then I was booted because of a lobby error. When logging back in the START button was again grayed out. This was followed up by the NA/EU server error.
I used the trick in this thread to flush my DNS and I could see my character. The the world was full again. I kept trying and finally got in a queue (35 people). After 10 minutes I was booted out of the queue because the world was full. Reattempts show a full world.
Things are getting worse every day and SQEN hasn't done a damn thing to fix them in just over a week.
They say they are going to add more servers on Wednesday. So for yet another (holiday here) weekend we are going to have low/no service.
I'm getting 10102 errors constantly now instead of 1017's, and you need to restart the client every time it happens or you get the can't see NA/UE list error.
IMO, the least they could do is restart the servers every 6-12 hours to flush the AFKers.
I did manage to get on yesterday morning (and even that took ages) and played most of the day. I saw AFKers everywhere. People that never moved. Never. All day. I spent a ton of time doing crafting and gathering and there are so many afkers around, it's ridiculous. I don't blame them - with how fucked up this game is right now I don't blame them at all.
Worst MMORPG launch ever. Without question.
Premium MMORPGs do not feature built-in cheating via cash for gold pay 2 win. PLAY to win or don't play.
Silly me for thinking I'd be able to play this weekend. I'm through apologizing for this game. If they don't make it playable within the next couple of days, I'm uninstalling this mess. Love the game when I can actually play it, but that's a relatively rare occurrence.

According to this, its your internet connection: (I am not making this up)
We are currently experiencing technical difficulties wherein players are being disconnected from instances on the North American and European data center Worlds. As a result, customers who were disconnected from said content are unable to log in.
The issue is being addressed, and new updates will follow as additional information becomes available.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Yes, we saw that numerous times now. The problem goes way beyond people getting disconnected and unable to log back in. There are many that never were disconnected but also cant login - or even get a server list.
Why companies can charge for broken games nowadays I'll never know.
Because suckers like us pay them. It does seem like everyone's traditional complaints about SE have been well founded and cranked up to 11. They truly underestimated what having the perfect launch window for their MMO would do for their box sales. What I mean is that there is not another AAA MMO being launched three months either side of the FFXIV re-release. With no new competition, their initial launch flourished, and fell right on its face.

Silly game making me go outside.
This is an utter joke of epic proportions
I cant log in my character world is full.
I cant make a new character on any other NA/EU server because they aren't allowing any more to be made
I can only play on JPN servers but they are laggy to the point I cant get out of the monsters red attacks .
A week later after I bought game Ive only been able to play 2 times .

When I did log in I played a few hours , but it was really late ( or early in morning ) .
So I went to bed and stayed logged in AFK for about 8 hours . Then played again for second time .
since then I haven't been able to log in once . Wish I never logged out now .
