One of the features that increasingly is found in MMOs today is the LFG, or Looking for Group, tool. In an exclusive reveal, MMORPG.com has teamed up with ArenaNet to bring our readers the first information about the LFG that will be coming to Guild Wars 2 in the near future. Read on!
To access the tool, you need simply open your contacts menu (press the Y key) and go to where the LFG area always has been… only when the revamped tool goes into the game it’ll be gloriously overhauled with the sort of utility and breadth of scope that the game’s long needed. You won’t have to flag yourself simply as “LFG” and hope for the best anymore, and you won’t need to download a 3rd party app to get into CoF. The new LFG has categories for every single kind of content: Living World (both open world and dungeons), all of the game’s Dungeons, the Fractals of the Mists, Personal Story, Player vs. Player, and World vs. World. The only two groups that won’t function across all servers in your region are WvW (because you can’t fight for any server but your own), and for the Living World open world content (because it’s expected that you’ll meet with players already on your server for this).

They should send $100,000 anonymously into GW2LFG's paypal account.
That site has been priceless.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
indeed
Too late for who? The dungeons haven't gone anywhere.
How many MMOs have a functional LFG system in their first year? Not many.
FF:XIV after the hiccups in early access, the Duty Finder works perfectly what a week after launch, try again mate.
"if u forcefully insert foriegn objects into my? body, i will die"
Stop being such pussies. Games survived without a LFG tool for years.
Sometimes I just love mmorpg.com posters...
"MMO's are social games - Grouping should be forced", "You need to join a guild", "PUG's are horrible experiences"...
Yet: "OMG game is doomed without a LFG tool to find some automatic way to be social without actually being social"?
Some people are just amusing :-)
As for the upcoming LFG tool: Don't really care, never felt it was something I was missing anyway.
We dont need casuals in our games!!! Errm... Well we DO need casuals to fund and populate our games - But the games should be all about "hardcore" because: We dont need casuals in our games!!!
(repeat ad infinitum)
And that's one of the reasons many of them fail IMO....
The only MMOs I can think of that launched with one post WoW inventing it, are DCUO and FFAR....and im pretty sure its one of the main things still keeping DCUO going
Any other partakers? Not many.
I wasn't aware that one game constituted many. I'll have to check my math again.
Also, FFXIV ARR hardly counts considering this is its second launch. They've had years of extra time to program a working LFG tool and other polish features.
ArenaNet swipes freely from the best parts of the CoX tool.
About time that someone did.
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
NWO did as well, right out the box. And it works swimmingly.
"Small minds talk about people, average minds talk about events, great minds talk about ideas."
LFG tool should been there from day 1.
dont have interesting play GW2 anymore.
So, Im guessing some of the options for filters will be "Experienced ONLY" and "full ZERKER ONLY".
Its great that they are finally adding a LFG tool(something that should have been in the game at launch) but the bad community might ruin it.
GW1 had a LFG tool (that also could be used for trading) I am surprised its taken this long for GW2
I'm looking forward to Sept 17th
