Is getting lvl 50 really that big of a deal?

I ask because there are so many jobs to pick from that I don't think getting one job to level 50 is that big a deal. I think it would mean a lot more to have level 50 in healer, tank, and dps roles.

If endgame content is the only thing you care about, then yeah lv50 is a big deal. Otherwise, lol, not really. The best thing you can do in this game is to maximize your fun; it is not designed as a "min-max, rush" MMORPG XD.

I dont see the diffrence with making alts, in other MMOs, and in FFXIV, even if the alts are integrated in your 1 character, if you wish it to be - play like you want to, have known a very few in EQ2 that hardly reached level 30 - 40, while the cap were 80, since they were busy getting all classes/crafters up at the same time - even if the crafters usually would be at max level.

alts can be useful and ofc less hassle if you can shift on spot, rather than have to log to another character, but in experience people will usually prefer you on a specific class - the one you play the best or the best geared of your characters.

for me, getting to 50 is not a property, but I am having so much fun on my bard (when I can play) I just can't stop playing him. I have started other class while waiting for the instance that I need to progress in the story.

    No, it's not.

Having a decent geared level 50 with essential skills from other classes, getting your Militia, AF, Relic and Darklight gear tripple melded however is and will take you between 2-3 months at least. I think it's even more, but i have not done the math yet.

You can not do end game without a proper geared level 50 with at least some skills from other jobs. This is not rush to 50 > do end game. You will fail in end game at Titan Hard mode without proper gear and a really good group.

You make alts for the additional skills. This game has skills that are cross class and are very useful sometimes required for end game.

Level 50 is nothing compared to being able to log in.  At least when you log in, you have bragging rights of being able to play the game. image

I am loging out every night and loging in again every day because i don't like to take a spot being AFK. That said, it never took me more than 30 minutes to get back into the game, even when i lose connection due to my internet screwing up. Guess it's Karma ;)

I want lvl 50 just for the Coil of Bahamut it looks insanely fun and is supposed to be crazy difficult. Also according to what I have been hearing the 3 most wanted Jobs for pro end-game teams are White Mage, Bard, and Scholar.

Oh I also want level 50 to wear the damn achievement crown I got really sucks getting one then not even being able to wear it. LOL

For anyone wondering about the Crowns they all have the same stats of 36 Melee defense and 70 Magic defense then they tend to have a unique item trait related to the achievement needed to gain the crown.
