Being that a tiny minority has gotten almost a 2 week head start instead of a couple of days because of the companies inability to give the majority even a chance to play i say reset and everybody starts from square 1.
If not the imbalance on the present servers willl be so big you are going to see mass movement towards any new servers being put up leading to the exact same situation of the last week..
So a reset of all chars would put all who want to play the game on the same level as well as stop a new fiasco!

Since when is an MMORPG a race? Does it matter that when you log in people will have read the stories and explored the dungeons before you?
What does it matter if you join the game on day one, or 2 years after launch? I assure you, the monsters will still be in the dungeons when you log in.
Just log in and play when you can. Maybe even take the time to read some of the quest dialog while you're at it.
Though, I would suggest that the next month be subscription free. Not that $15 or $30 is a lot of money, but I think the state of the servers at launch warrant a compensation. Just as a matter of principle. There is no excuse for how bad the servers have been lol.
It's one thing to have to wait in a que on a AAA MMO launch. It's entirely another thing to have to run a macro to spam num0 for 60 minutes straight just to get into a que lol.

i do being only 20 percent of the people who got to play leaving the 80 percent who did nt get to play can not really be called a launch. 80 percent still have nt even got to make a char. thus a reset would put all on square 1.

Not like it matters. They're not going to do a server wipe just because some people couldn't log in and cried about it on a forum lol.

while I agree, being 2 years late to a game might be a problem, being a week or 2 late won't matter. Most players won't be able to max all their characters in this time anyway and that's why you don't want to join an old game. Yes some players will have a lvl 50 already, but you'll find enough buddies to play with still.
And read quest dialogues, they do have a lot of good ones.
Again, what is the basis for the wipe?
Wipes happen generally for good reason. Like a dupe or hack that destroyed the economy via flooding the game with cash or items, things like that.
What would be the basis of the wipe in this scenario? That someone beat a dungeon before you did? Or because someone got to read a block of story text before you did?
These games aren't a race.

I dont think people realize that this so called launch here only a small minority actually got to log in or make a character is going to cause major issues if and when they restart with present plan without a reset.
Many people are going to leave the present servers to join friends and guilds on new servers thus a new over crowding and issues. the old servers will become pock marked with chars of varying levels and cause issues being many wont join them because of a 2 week head start.
the launch as it was planned turned out to be a fiasco where 80 percent who want to play could nt. so the smart think to do imo is a reset and actually a launch that can be called a real launch for all who want to play this game.
It is hardly about a race but a complete fail on the companies part to give all who want to play a real launch and not this fiasco which is going to effect all of the servers unless they do a reset.
If they had been putting servers up since the beginning to accomedate all things would have been far better although crashes and other issues certainly would have happened and will happen. But they did nt and we now are faced with a situation where many servers have become completely unbalanced and will lead to a migration to the new servers supposedly coming online causing a rerun of the last week.
i hope i am wrong but this is how i see it developing and only will try and solve the issue by a reset and a real launch for all..If the company could do a complete revamp of the game in 2 years they very well can to a reset and make a real launch as planned..
Sorry if what im saying upsets people but a new round of last week is now being prepared by the company with its present plan.

Not going to happen. At this point a reset would be far more detrimental than the supposed "advantage" those of us who have played quite a bit have. Given the nature of the game and how the class system works, even those who reached level 50 are still not that far ahead of the game, as they blew through the content and most likely haven't even touched much of the content outside of the sphere of the main quests and few instances available. The crafting market hasn't even really opened up yet, and the economy is still going through it's build up.
I understand the frustrations of those who haven't been able to play, but the reality is that even if there was a reset, you still wouldn't be on equal footing. Those who have played would get through the content faster, and they would be able to do it even more efficiently a second time around.
So let me get this straight.
According to you, about 80% of the people who want to play haven't got to log in, or not log in often.
So when the server issues get fixed, and these huge groups of people come rushing into the servers, you think you're going to have issues finding a group to play with? Tell me again about the horrors of finding a group in a jam packed AAA MMORPG with a dungeon finder.
Tell me all about it.
Seriously. This is not even funny any more. Stop.

I just don't agree Jonas, the game is a great play through so far but I would not want to start my character over, you are forgetting that this game is designed to have people running through all zones as you can change to a lvl 1 class bro, and they will release even more classes eventually and create more lvl 1+ traffic. I have not been able to log in since Friday, and while it is to me very frustrating, I can not want or see the need to take back others experiences in the game that they have been able to experience just because I didn't get to play as much.
They will fix the servers bro, if you want to race to max lvl go ahead, game is not that grindy. I will be taking my time enjoying every bit of it with my friends. Hopefully they will comp. us some time for this though, because that is the one thing that I am not happy about, almost 8 days of my 30 days have been taken away and I would like those days back, when it is not on my end that I can not log on I feel that is only fair. We will see what they do about that, but IMO a reset would be absurd.
The results are in:
Reset - 1
No-reset - Everyone else
I tell you what, you do a census with each and every current player in the game. If majority wants a reset, by all means let them. So get busy contacting each and every single player in the game, oh and good luck.
In a world of sharp knives, you would be a spoon.
Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.
once again it is NOT about people getting ahead or left behind. Its about the present plan which only is going to recreate the past week when all the server hopping etc begins to happen once they do come back online.
People are gonna start looking for a server where they can play with friends and guilds thus rerolling and leaving servers while others will be looking for fresh servers because they want to actually take part in a real launch on a fresh server.
New overcrowding new no logins new code this and that because the company has nt been able to supply a launch for the majority of players.
a new launch will put all servers at square 1 and could even out the rush that will be coming after dt.
But perhaps this time around the company could supply the servers needed to accomedate all who want to play.
My guess that ther present plan is gonna mean chaos and a repeat of the past week.
We will see i will gladly apoligize if after dt things go smoothly and all get to take part in a real launch. But as it is now i doubt it very much.

This is all about me, me , me! I didn't get to play at all and I'm upset about it! The only fair thing is to reset everyone else because I didn't get to play! /fixed.
In a world of sharp knives, you would be a spoon.
80% couldn't play, yet 90% of my guild have complaint and played the game since launch. Some have gone to bed early, or went to play other games or smell this MMO called outside, but I don't think any of them really got left behind. Maybe I have a better than average guild, that are more determined to play, but that's beside the point.
Everyone will start on the new server? Why would I play on the new server. I did play a lot and my character is shaping like I want him to. A person who has limited time will not restart on a new server, because he doesn't have the time to do that again. So I see a few people maybe going to restart, sure, but that doesn't make it 80%.
Market? This is again not a 2 year old game, market is being formed as others have said. Even in a well established game past the 1st year marker, I have entered played the market and got better from it. There is no need for a horror story. These horror stories happend when exploits aren't solved and exploiters aren't punished and the extra gold remains in the game rather than removing it. Again, 2 weeks headstart won't change it.
Fail on the company, isn't that just a too harsh word to describe something as insignificant as not being able to log in. It's not like someone couldn't get their meds, public transport was closed for days leaving people unable to travel or shops being closed for weeks with people starving. Yes a better launch would have been better, a lot of people would really see the advantage in that, but it's not like we will die because of it.
Reset would hit casuals the most and hardcore players will probably not play anymore. I'm even considering to stop playing if they did a reset now. It's uncalled for. A day or two reset would not be nice, but acceptable, a full reset would really piss me off and with this many alternatives I would probably not do the same content again. Well a 50/50 chance.
Yeah...that's not happening. Servers will be ghost towns if they did. Have fun leveling by yourself!
That's why they get New servers.
So People that want a fresh server can roll there.
And really.... most lvl50's are on Legacy servers and People that are lvl50 on a non-Legacy server now are powerlevelers anyway and will Reach a New Level 50 on a New server in a couple days.
So a reset is completely pointless and will cause such a backlash lol! They can just as well shut down the game. Will be a more quick and less painful Death. /shrug
So pretty much having 80% of the people who payed for your game but where unable to play it is not a good reason? ROFL
WOW..

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith
No, it is not. Like the other guy said, this is not a race. It's not even a PvP game where time might equal advantage.
I can't find a fault in your reasoning.
