Here is the commercial, She gets all sexied up to distract me from the game now she wants to play, lol. She's most likely mess'in with me, pretty sure she knows it's the game i've dedicated the last week of my life too.
They better get them servers running...
Just popped over there, you ain't joking.
Yes much better, Thanks!
The reason FFXIV ARR is currently so popular is due to this commercial.
It also is heavily due to the release of it on PS3.
You may scoff at these reasons, but it really is the reason for it.

I work at a liquor store and you wouldn't believe the power of commercialization. We could have one of the worst beers in here that tastes terrible, but due to a customer seeing the commercial, they buy it. Many people buy it, all because of this one commercial.

Releasing it on PS3. This is a HUGE one. Console gamers are SALIVATING at the idea of an mmo on it. I know Defiance kinda tanked recently, but at release, it was crazy. All my friends on Xbox who never played MMOs were clamoring over it. Sure, they haven't played it in a while, and sure it was a FPSmmo...but still.

Without the PS3 release and commercialization...I believe the servers never would have had ques on them. The PS3 release is/was HUGE. Especially ESPECIALLY since they play on the SAME servers as the PC guys. Crazy.

No scoff here, i believe it. Doesn't hurt that the game is a solid, deep, fun mmo either.
I wonder if that was more representative of the login rush.
Man. Really?
This game is awesome, I like living the fantasy, I really do.
However..
This commercial sucks monkey toes.
But yeah it is fun, looks great. Of course I wouldn't mind some new stuff! But hey, it'll come eventually! (housing, pvp, chocobo breeding/racing?)

This has reflections of GW2's commercial. GW2 commercial Our Time is Now.
The FF commercial is pretty cool! I hope to see it on tv.
Edit: Off topic, are there any rumors when the digital sales are becoming available again? My son and I are dying to play this.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
The digital standard version was up for a very short period of time on Amazon (US) today and I grabbed it. It says it's currently unavailable now though. So I have no clue what's going on. Maybe they are only letting a limited number of people purchase it before making it unavailable again, or perhaps it was an error. Keep your eyes peeled.
Ok ty much. We live in separate states, and he tried finding a hard copy in the city he is in, and so did I in mine. No luck at all the major chains. I will tell him about the hint you gave me! We both appreciate it.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
I'm not disagreeing with you about most of what you said. But, I think you are mistaken in one point. How in the world do the PS3 sales have to do with queues on the PC servers? We don't share servers. So, whether they sold PS3 copies or not, we would still be down for maintenance right now for server issues caused by congestion.
I could have sworn that we do share servers?...I thought I had seen people discussing their PS3s in general chat and such...? I am currently trying to find info on the web about this...but I coulda sworn we shared servers?

Good point about the PS3. On top of that, I have never seen the commercial on tv and want to play it. In fact, this was the first I had even seen of the ad. FF has a huge following and probably wouldn't even need the commercial. I believe GW2 had the same success with it's title due to the GW1 fans also. GW2 had no commercials released on the tv.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
Its also popular because its final fantasy
You are correct, PS3 and PC share servers in ARR. Everybody plays on the same servers here
Im sorry but as a fan of this game that commercial was awful.
Had I not been playing, and if I actually watched TV, and if I actually watched TV and paid attention to commercials...I wouldn't have know that it was a mmropg. I wouldn't have known anything special about the game. In fact I probably would have tuned out after a few words from that character dude...definitely when I saw the multicultural and diverse humans (gamers?)
Either way...im not sure who this is marketed to, perhaps PS3 people.
Certainly didn't inform me what the game actually was other than the last second of the clip...didn't let me know anything about gameplay (how hard would it be to show a few clips of combat or something so I could go "oh yeah, I get that")
I guess its nice they are trying to advertise beyond annoying banner ads...but if I wasn't in the know about this game and I saw that commercial, watched it completely, I would have no clue what the fck they were trying to sell me.
Im probably not the demographic they are looking at though. Most outcome of an advertisement to me is when I make a conscience effort to not buy a product due to a forceful ad (like an internet pop up ad that tricks me into clicking the close button but its just a small graphic on the banner and you just ended up opening a window to their site...) or a poor taste, annoying, or overly stereotypical and or overly PC ad...like those wartune ads that say "warning men only" with some unattractive beast woman with her purple tits hanging out with a secondary warning that my friends wont be seeing much of me when im inside...or pretty much any cell phone or cable company ad.
Ya, Mith is right. I found it here.

Sorry about that. I thought for sure they didn't have them together.
