+1 also this. If you take a second to talk to people then most of the time they will chat, and be willing to learn encounters. That being said, I have seen tanks flame the DPS into oblivion for making a mistake in a 40+ dungeon. As the healer, I am pretty relaxed, and am more about teaching people to do better than flaming them for a mistake. I really wish you could vote to kick party members in an instance though because when I see "sup fags" is the first line from a DPS...I can already tell I don't want to be in that group.

This isnt something unique to FFXIV, people are dimwits in every game. They tend to see 1 thing and focus completely on that and are just oblivious to everything else going on around them. Perfect example: People who will sit there beating on tanks for 5 minutes in PvP then wonder why the tank didnt die... meanwhile there were 2 healers just behind him keeping him alive.
Most of the stuff you mentioned, like the bubbling water in the 1st dungeon I noticed immediately. Similar with things in other dungeons. I seem to be the only one in my group who notices those things most of the time though. Sad thing is, Im an Archer and half the time I still wind up having to handle killing the adds or preventing them from spawning, DPSing the boss, and kite tanking the boss most of the time because the tanks arent holding aggro enough.
Hell even went on my 1st Copperbell run as Archer and at the begnining of the fight the healer wound up just standing there not doing anything for most of the fight (busy chatting during boss fight as it turns out) and our tank died and didnt get raised by the healer, so I wound having to kite the boss around while waiting for the bombs, dragging him into the explosions in time, and also taking out the other mobs that spawn and put out the bombs while the 1 other guy in the party still helping just sat waiting to trigger the device to make the bombs spawn. Wound up taking him down after awhile, luckily my 2nd class was also Pug and I had Second Wind slotted so I could throw a heal on myself once in awhile until the healer finally started helping out near the end.
All I know is that it's a surprise NOVELTY if I get heal agro and someone actually tries to get the mobs off me. Anyone.
I noticed that happens a lot too. Personally I usually do my best to pull the mobs off the healers immediately, even random healers in Fates while I kite the bosses to death if they pull heal aggro for the adds chasing me too.
As a a healer, I've not had anyone get too upset if they have died.
I've run through Brayflox now, and have yet had a random party who didn't complete the instance.
We have had some wipes, we learn and adjust, no one has rage quit or douchebagged me yet. Everyone I've played with so far has kept a level head, been patient, explained the fight when needed, and had a decent time playing.
I have no doubt it happens - I just don't think it's nearly as frequent as it seems reading the forums.
Don't be afraid to queue up - it does get more challenging, but it also gets more interesting and fun.
I have had the same experiance. Im ussually friendly and curtious and I get the same treatment as result.
Bad players are a dime a dozen, I get bad tanks and healers( when Im playing my tank or dps for a change) just as frequent and sadly.. they seem to bare the rudest primadona's of all.
That said, most of the time people are more then willing to listen, its all how you pressent your self. Alot if not most players are new to the game so people are learning, Ive also notice quite often people moving out of aoe's before they actually go off and still getting hit, probebly due to lag.
Just like Ridelynn I havent had any rude or raging players in my groups at all, overall the players seem alot more friendly and mature in general. A smile and a good additude works wonders and instead of playing the blame game (tanks and healers most certainly are no stranger to start flinging that around either) a simple ice breaker can make the difference in egos colliding and everyone laughing about it and just..shrugging it off.
Before people start blaming others.. just blame the hunter or EA games, that ussually gets some laughs.
Seriously, know idea how you can call healing hard. I don't think I have come across a game yet where healing is easier. I still spend over half the time DPSing. You just need to watch for what is incoming, it can all be timed and make sure you start the cast before damage it to hit, not after its hit, so you are never on the back-foot.
I am hoping that it gets a damn lot harder as healing classes i normally find the most challenging - for now its just plain boring.

when i use the Doody Finder most of the time healers are always DPSing and tanks cant hold aggro properly. So i just DPS the hell out of anything that has the least health until we either finish or wipe. No matter what role they are, there are always some people who knows crap about what they are doing in a dungeon. Specially picking up random groups.
Also when there is an activatable object in the middle of a fight, chances are it involves a strategy to defeat the boss.... ive seen a lot of people completely ignoring such things even after noticing the boss isnt even taking hits...... like the Slime boss (in the mines, i think), and the spike while fighting Ifrit.
Most of Haukke Manor isn't too bad if the tank is responsible about carefully pulling maidens and interrupting ae stun. The last boss IS hard on healers and requires DPS jump adds immediately at around 20% boss health, or healer doesn't have much of a chance.

This, from a melee dps perspective.
