Can i skip story quests?

WadeJWadeJ Member Posts: 45

i am currently level 30 WHM. Ive done the story up to level 24, unlocked chocbo and grand company. Apart from dungeons is there any reason to continue?

I prefer fate leveling, as the story takes you from one place to another all the time. So apart from the great storyline, will i miss out on any content?

Please dont flame me, i plan to do it at some point just prefer to level up with my friend.

Thanks

From what i've heard the ending will blow you away, so prolly not a great idea to skip. I think you will miss content???

You will need to do the story quests to unlock quite a few of the dungeons & primal fights from what I understand.

Fair enough, i will proberly do them if i will miss primal fights. I know about dungeons, but they dont really excite me anyway :/

My advice is to just try to truck through the main story quest as fast as you can If you don't enjoy doing it, unlock everything and never look back. You only need to do it once at least so next week and for as long as you play you can fate to your hearts content

They also seem to unlock sidequests in a town.

You can go to a town that has maybe two "!" and turn in the story quest that directed you there and 8 more will appear.  Seems more story based than level based because i've had quests above my level unlocked so I could do them but not turn them in.

It's very storyline based really. Dungeons, side quests, primals are all unlocked by the story. You can level by grinding fates more quickly and also more easily with a friend but you miss a lot of content unlocks.

Between hunting log, first time dungeon rewards, and main story quests, I'm trying to do as few side quests and FATE grinding / leves as possible to level up my first class - so I have all of that additional content for my 2nd/3rd etc. class.
