Latency Problems

MightyUncleanMightyUnclean Member EpicPosts: 3,531
I'm having huge latency problems on the Midgardsormr server. According to the in-game connection status, latency is up to 500 sending and 4000 receiving, even in lightly populated areas. I press a button and get a response seconds later. NPC's take 30 seconds to a minute to appear. I checked my internet connection and it seems to be fine. I'm not having problems on the other online games I play.

Is there anything I can do? Is anyone else having this problem?

Thanks!

I wish Latency was my only problem, I am also getting kicked out every 15-30 min. I can't do dungeons and most instances till they fix it. My other games are fine.

Pretty frustrating.  I finally can get into the game and it's unplayable.  Bah!

This problem just popped up for me today too.

Glad its not just me, same problem.

As of this post sending 19 , recieving 3173.  Game isnt unplayable though, but I definitely can move a .5 sec before a cast ends and it will still go off every time. Have no idea what this game plays like without high latency, I bet its pretty smooth.

Is there a way to report this in-game?  Or maybe a website support ticket?

Would like to know what to do about this too.

It's lame walking for 2 seconds after I'm supposed to stop, and having to press an ability 4 times before the game maybe thinks about sorta kinda responding if it feels like it.

Gotta say it's really tiresome that this game must have problems in every single way that affects playability.   I swear, if they fix this the next thing will be that they pay someone to just run up and down the hallways by servers every hour tripping on power wires.

No, it doesn't affect everyone.   Then again, not everyone got error 3102 or 90000 either.

There's another one of those 50+ page threads filling up with people posting "yup, me too" on the ff 14 forums though.

It *is* a widespread issue, given the number of posts I've read about this.

This sounds like a routing problem.  Connecting to the server is not a direct link,  so you are probably getting bottle necked somewhere in between.  Sometimes relogging will reroute the connection resulting in a better connection.

The game has been playable for me today, very much so....I got to level 30 Arcanist, and 14 Thurmatauge....

There was slight lag, and I got 90 000 twice but that's it....

Make sure your ISP isn't bottle necking or saw edging the game, classifying it as a P2P service...(peer to peer, not Pay to Play.)

Rogers Canada and BT in Britain did this for WoW, and the players couldn't even login...Because the streaming of the game is the same profile as a Peer to Peer program they just cut you down in bandwidth, or worse they razor tooth you which is like rapidly turning the on and off switch on your bandwidth.

BT has reportedly had the same problems with FFXIV too....So many sure you're not getting fucked by your ISP. It usually only happens to new games, or if your ISP changes protocols. For example with Rogers they changed their protocols when Cataclysm came out and nigh half of the Canadian playerbase couldn't connect....
