Higher level dungeons require more then 4 people to do just putting that out there . Relic quests/dungeons are 6 man groups or more . FATES with ODIN or Behemuth require full alliances of level 50s to just try to best them . SO at higher levels there are more options . Right now the best way to level is get in a FATE group and run from fate to fate its quick and easy and you can get to 50 in 2 days if thats all you do . I think SE needs to nerf the exp on FATEs and slow down exp progression imo.
FF14 shows that a game can have quality stylized graphics and have a good performance and a distinct unique look.
Our little group of vets will play it for some time to come as it is fun so far and wait what the future will bring.

I'm still waiting for digital downloads to resume so my wife and a few friends can play..unfortunately, unless they allow new toon creation again on my server, I'll be forced to start a new toon on a different server so we can lvl together...
I have been having a blast in this game, can't wait to log in today and play my wee conjurer! I was bummed, of course, with the opening week woes, however I have had no trouble logging in and staying in since the new servers went live. I think that FFXIV:ARR is a very solid game that has a lot of potential and am looking forward to many months (or more!) of playing time!

It's still a very easy game even at level 50 - I've been doing lvl 50 dungeons and two 8man raids for 4 days now, its not hard at all.
There are already tactics to skip trash and just kill bosses.
I hope SE puts some actual challenging content as right now, I am not sure about long term appeal, it seems like current 50s will be out of content in about a week.
Also the game world is pretty small, I wonder how quickly SE can add more content.
Have you done coilings of bahamut? Gotten your relic weapon? No one including legacy people have even made it 3/4 through coilings yet. Patch 2.1 is also around the corner, bringing new dungeons, 3 extreme mode primal difficultys, and king moggle mog raid. Basically, what your saying is wrong.
Edit: Mrhappy just got 3/4 through as I posted this lol
Speaking of endgame.. i hope you manage to reach the Binding coil before you conclude this review. Those who have made it that far seem to feel it is the best content in the game. I don't think anyone has made it past the 4th stage yet as far as i know...
I like the 4 player group - I think it feels like a perfect number, really makes each member of the group feel a little more important to the overall effort.
I've always had this theory on group size and how it relates to difficulty.
Back in the WoW days when I was running and leading 40 man raids, you could have 10+ people AFK or their toons dead or whatever and still have a good shot at downing the boss if your handful of tanks, healers, and top DPS were all playing well.
25 person raids I've seen the same thing, hell in WOTLK Blizzard made a separate achievement set for running the 25 player dungeons in the first tier (Nax, Maly, OS) with 20 people or less.
10 man raiding is really the sweet spot in WoW to me. Losing 1 DPS or healer was a much bigger deal the smaller your group size got, so each person had to play better - which meant the group as a whole was more on their toes.
I loved playing through Ulduar in my 10 group above the full 25 guild group.
I've just always felt like each player in a smaller group is more valuable to the group - which makes you step your game up (or at least it should.) Maybe it's a psychological thing? Like, "Well if I go down there are plenty of other people to pick up the slack."
So in ARR with 4 person groups, you've got 2 dps 1 heal 1 tank, so if a DPS plays poorly, stands in a fire, get's killed you just lost half of your DPS.
Anyway, just a theory. I've always loved the smaller group content and smaller raid sizes, there has always been something more epic feeling about 8-10 sized raid groups to me than the big 25-40+.
I completely agree with this. Four man groups are the only reason my group of friends started looking at this. Granted we have no idea when we'll be able to actually buy it now /sigh...
I am very much looking forward to seeing the 4-man groups in action.
" Do you think SE did enough? Are you enjoying the game?"
No and no, since I haven't been able to play for a week. Their customer support sucks they have no phone customer support number I can find for the game. Also every time you get in the online chat support you have to wait an hour to two hour minimum just to be "dropped" "There are no agents to help you at this time" when you hit number 1 in the queue. I've even tried to queue with every browser I know of. Still no luck.
So even though I like the game I can't play it because of their stupid registration code registering for a new service account and not the current one that had my character.
I hit level 50 right now it feel exactly like WoW sad to say. If you want a new feel of MMO I would not play this game. But if you like WoW then go ahead and get this game.
I've been having fun so far, but the AoE hit detection on the instance servers is atrocious. I have a 90ms ping on average and I've been hit by aoes despite being on the other side of the room when the cast finished.
It may not matter in the long run - I'll probably be focusing primarily on crafting once I've leveled everything.
The "slower" gameplay is kind of a refresher for me. At first, being used to games like GW2 and the like, this throw back to older MMO's that I didn't get a chance to experience because I wasn't really aware or into MMO's until about 5 years ago. The game though, is beautiful. I'm finding that pure exploration is fun in itself, riding my chocobo across the plains of Thanalan and La Noscea taking screenshot after screenshot while the gorgeous background music brings the world to life. While I'm readjusting to not having every NPC conversation being voiced-I have SWTOR to blame for that-the cutscenes are still awesome, going down to the very detail of the characters themselves being affected by the environment. Hair blows in the wind, you actually see the NPC's chest inhales and exhales as if they're actually breathing. Small things like that might not seem like a big deal to some, but for me, who loves being immersed into a world, a story, and a conflict, that's what I look for in any MMORPG. I mean, not only does time pass in the world (day and night) but weather changes with fog, rain, storms, and the like.
The community for the most part is also refreshing. From being on PvP servers and such on other games where there is a lot of crass, juvenile, and plain stupid behavior, here it is not nearly as prevalent. There will always be those select few, but on the whole people are mature, helpful, and pleasant. I get healed and resurrected by random people throughout the world as everyone is working together, and frankly, not having two factions where there is a constant feeling of, "I need to look over my shoulder to make sure I'm not ganked!" is something that allows a relaxing gameplay experience. And the options of what you can do in the game: being able to acquire every job on one character, the crafting, FATE's, Leve's, Guildhests, playing and replaying instances, hunting logs-all of those things just pull me into spending hours on end in the game and not even realize it. I'm not a big MMO vet who's played everything from Ultima to the present, but from what I've played, this, though it may not be anything revolutionary, is just an overall incredible gaming experience and one you can just sit back, relax, and escape into Eorzea and let off some of the stress real life can bring.
OK!small precision!fate give currency.if you chose early a grand company .all fate will give currency which can be used to get mount gear .article etc.

PS - All mammals have nipples.
Get over it already.
