I love this game and have upgraded to digital collector's too and my advice when you get it finally take your time to really savour this game it is a gem .
It's kinda ironic, I think I'm close to done with the game. There have been a couple of threads talking about its mediocrity, I think in some regards that's generous. I do fancy levelling other classes but it's getting pretty tedious and grindy to be honest. I just don't get why quite a few are enjoying it so much (which makes me wonder if i am missing something).
Maybe I should do the community a service and recycle my account.
To be honest the company might be able to get away with this with kids leaving them to drool for handouts: But being and adult Square enix lost all credibility by not once having the decency to inform the public on this issue.
So now instead of playing this game i pre ordered "The elders scrolls antrology" which will release in europe on coming friday.
Its the entire collection of elder scrolls games.
So square enix has lost me as a possible customer by fundementally treating me as if i didnt exist.
I know the pundits will say: "Dont let the door hit you in the butt."
Thats fine as i will be very busy playing one of thhe best games ever created while waiting to see if Teso treats it customer base a little better then Square Enix.
In fact Square enix did not lose just 1 player a lot of people i have been talking too are doing exactly like me.
However to all who got in and to all that buy this waiting without the least bit of information from the companies side have fun and gl

Not to sidetrack the thread, but have you tried Morroblivion? It would make a great accompaniment to your Anthology pack! It makes Morrowind look so much nicer, and you can travel between Oblivion and Morrowind with the same character.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
I have been trying to buy a digital CE copy from them for the last week. This is the last day I am going to wait on them to open their online store for digital sells.
The way that they have been handling the problem has caused me to lose much hope in them. They should have had everything fixed and open for sells by now.

I would wait until at least tomorrow. I figure they want to get through this weekend so they don't have another rush of people on the servers. I'm crossing my fingers for tomorrow they will release a digital copy again.

Anyone else waiting for these issues to be resolve **** So that they can purchase the game? -- At what point do you look sideways at the company, and say REALLY?
I get it, people - I do; similar issues have occurred with other titles during their launches, and if this was 2004 or even 2008 - and a first time launch title perhaps i'd give that red herring fallacy more credit then a simple face palm.
However - Not only are we sitting here, in 2013 (near 2014); over a week and half after the launch, - but this is a reboot, a second chance for a company that has fallen quite far from their legendary status they once enjoyed. To make matters worse, i do remember a multi-phase beta test that was engineered to give them some insight on server stress capabilities. --
That is IF we overlook the fact, that as the fan-boys cry, this -does- happen very often during launches. That makes this the most forseeable, and arguably most preventable issue to ever come across.
Now, if i owned the title perhaps my remarks would be more emotionally provoked. Now, i'm sitting slightly more curious than anything. --- I have not even been able to purchase the game. With the current dry spell of both MMO, and non-MMO titles in circulation; i'm giving this title it's fair time to straighten itself out , however i'm getting tired of waiting, and starting to look (and hoping) to find a different and less mainstream title to occupy my time til something of value makes it's way ---
So what i'm essentially asking, is what do you think is a reasonable time to wait? - Do you think in a week this will be resolve? 2 weeks? 3? -- A few days? I'd like some ideas on what you guys would believe to be the amount of time before this game is playable, and once again available for purchase, so i can make some choices as to where i put my money. ~ Thanks.
I don't recall a similar issue historically in which a game company halted sales for over a week while trying to fix their game. I stopped waiting by the end of last week..
Does anyone recall a launch similar to this one where the company stops selling their game for a week and a half?

I have pretty much stopped caring all together about FFXIV, its not a good sign to me all that they can't seem to get their problems in order to open up digital sales. I give them a chance to make an impression and with this game I definitely enjoyed my time in the beta but, the more I see that they can't resolve even the most standard of MMO problems or are even planning for them, just doesn't convince me that these guys (even after the debacle that was the first release) know what they are doing. The amount of apologies from the game designer does nothing for me, don't apologize, don't go to websites and try to appease the players and the potential buyers just get your damn game in order and that will be all the apology anyone needs.
There are just too many games on the market to deal with this kind of inadequate planning and back-pedalling. Trying to spin this into a positive is just that, spin. I absolutely hate when people try to apologize for their game like if this hasn't happened so many times in the past enough to justify our complaints or that Square Enix is "different" and aren't held to the same standard as other MMO developers. I was really excited for this game before this mess, I was ready to jump on board but now I have zero confidence that these people know what they are doing or will be able to deliver quality content in a timely manner after launch. There are tons of great PC and console games coming out soon that I see no reason at all to sit and wait for these people to finally get organized.
The games ok, not as good as some people are making out so your not missing out, try it once you can buy it. I've got to lvl 37 and I'm getting bored already, no real exploring to be done it is very much on rails dictated by the story, zones aren't really that large and all the loading screens are very, very annoying. I've gone back to playing skyrim, now that is how an open world should be, shame its not an mmo. Eso hurry up and release I say.

These games are what you make them. For a player who just knocks out quest after quest to level without reading anything or speaking to anyone, you may not like the game... Then again, those kind of content locust are never happy with ANY game lol. I've been taking my time with this one. Reading the story lines, getting into the classes and crafting. It's Final Fantasy. Take some time and enjoy it. As far as grinding classes... pick one you like and play it for a while instead of jumping around from class to class. Most people I know are getting done the first class quest then they're off to the races switching like mad... Of course that will make it feel grindy. Lol

Yes. And it happened one year ago. By a game that had a pretty stellar technical launch.
At this point its not about resolving issues, just as it wasnt with GW2. Its about controlling the inflow a bit.
I just broke down and left my house for 30 minutes to go buy the game at a store. It felt weird to have the sun hit my body. My eyes took some time to adjust to the light. No fret though as I am back in my chair and safe once again from life. ;o)

Too funny! Was it worth the confrontation of humans one on one? Speaking without Ventrilo must be overwhelming!
I have tried everywhere in my local area to get it and it is sold out. I would rather have a digital copy anyway.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
The servers are fixed. I got on at peak hours (7pm on a saturday no less) without so much as a little lag from all the people on. And as for sales, just call a gamestop that sells PC games or Bestbuy, it's out there and it's only thirty bucks.

I like it. Ok it's not great, but it's a decent filler. Being able to constantly tame and update your dragon is a mini game in itself.
no but i certainly will check it out thank you

It's the best game released in years.
That's the point of this thread. How do we know if we can't play?

You don't. Have some patience. I'm fairly certain they would love to take your money & they'll do so as soon as they feel it's stable enough.
It's worth the wait, imho. And not many games are these days. /shrug

That's a significant claim, but I bet it is baseless.
