advice for generating gil

there are some furious debates going on, in the official ff14 forums, about gil and the economy and repair cost.

i dont want to post there, and while i may not be as effective in adding to the conversation by posting here, i will share my thoughts and experiences so far to maybe help others who are trying to make a positive gil generation - completely separate from any trading or crafting.

first some history.

in FF11 as you played for hours and hours and HOURS you would eventually get these rare drops called 'beastmens seals.'  it took a long time to get these, and was completely random.  using these seals you could choose to purchase entry into one instanced battle of your choosing (the first instance battles in all mmos) and you would need to defeat some enemies with some specific challenges for a chance to earn different rewards - some of these rewards you would have a chance at is why you would select a certain battle to buy entry to.

people who are familiar to this system see ff14 'guildhest' or 'guildleve' battles, whatever they are, in the duty finder, and see its actually a cool gift - in ff14 now you can run these interesting and fun battles over and over for no cost and only profit!!

in the ff14 forums everyone is saying, 'im losing gil playing at 50 and repairing.'  'im grinding endgame dungeons and losing all my gil.'  then in another post i see, from the same exact people, 'guildhest is only worth running once on each character.'

guildhest is a very great way to generate gil!!!

even if you are over leveled, find a battle you like, have a gear set of about that level (so u dont create unnecessary repair cost) and play the battles.... a good thing is that each battle gives about the same gold only a small difference as you level up so..  you can make decent income by playing the mid range battles

and there is one source of possible gil flow that i find very entertaining so far.

also to add on, i am not arguing for or against the current repair cost system at level 50, i am just giving some advice on how you can create a positive gil flow in the game as it currently exists right now

also unlike leve there is no restriction on how many you can do
