I like the new features of 5.4. The new content has exploration, and a scaling casual raid system, with a proving ground for solo practise.

I wish more themepark mmos take a page from this. I like raiding but it takes too much effort to make up for others short comings, which  means a person has to sit through 4 hours of a raid which takes 1 hour for a good group.

Thats if the fail raid even completes, normally a raid can use up to 4 hours on one boss. In that case either the group is bad or the devs designed the content to scale intentionally to be 'difficult' to keep players interested. Yet, i am not a fool, so i just feel like i am being lied to, or treated as an idiot.

In any case, the mentioned above features makes content more enjoyable, and i hope instead of just a casual raid system they add a challenging nightmare mode to solo raids and save after each boss, so a person can play as little as they would want without having to try to complete the raid all at once.

Thats how they can really reward players for progressing through content.

And i have maybe wasted 50 hours raiding in one mmo with a fail group, that somehow once we completed the raid, the content miracously became easy to repeat. Again i am thinking the devs intentionally scale content to make it annoying to 'challenge' players but its not in the dev notes, so it seems more like a bug to me. Which is why i think i personally i do not want to do challenging content with others, but only by myself, and i do not want content that is challenging such as raiding to be restricted to groups only. Since i had such a miserable experience, i never want to even give another raid group a chance. They basically ruined a whole aspect of mmos for me, meanwhile i was basically baby sitting their incompetent play. So mindlessly draining to come after work to deal with so many bad players.

This happened in swtor btw. They should have a player rating for player roles to reduce the chance of this happening. similar to proving grounds but shows a rating with certain stats to show roles done well for raids. They have raid tools for that, but something on the fly that does not require putting the game client at risk.

Alot of the new raid ideas sound really cool. I alos hope these ideas carry over to other games not just for raids but dungeons as well. Still I might comeback just to check this out it sounds fun to be able to run content with a group of my friends and not needing to find more then that.

    nice game 5-6 yrs ago.

still a good game for any 'new' mmo player.

Looks promising, however I'm still bum-hurt about the normalization of all hunter pets and the lack of an in-depth talent tree. I hope those who still play enjoy it, though. I'm just an old curmudgeon.

I make spreadsheets at work - I don't want to make them for the games I play.

Cut and paste for over 90% of mmos?

It is clear to see there is indeed something "new" but if you expected the entire concept of Wow to change in one patch you sir are one hell of an idjit.

I'd like to see how many posters here actually can control themselves and talk about the content and game without whine posts stemming from being butthurt over Wow memories of years yonder past. People have zero self control now so I fully expect biatch posts from here on out as per norm.

I myself am around to check out the new island and content with some rl friends who play ... always just biding my time for future mmos I have my eye on. Enjoy the journey I always say.

    You stay sassy!

But it's not, the new island is something very different for WoW, flexable raids I don't know of are in any other MMO.  Sure a raid is not new but why single out just one feature?
