    Probably Thamaturge and then Black mage when you can become one.

    For what you want, this is clearly the best choice.

    Maybe to give OP some options and because I am curious myself. Whcih would be the best melee based aoe dps class ? Marauder/Warrior (just guessing) ?

    I got a level 50 Marauder/Warrior and I don't use the AOE dps except to gather adds or aggro when it gets hairy.

     

    I think dragoons have a AOE dps, but not sure they use it much either?  Any dragoons can give input?

     

    I know Bards have an uber AOE attack.  But I guess for AOE attacking a caster class is best imho.

    THM/BLM but this game is a bit different in that AE isn't quite the same as in many games.

     

    You can spam AE in fate zergs, but fate zergs are utterly mindless and devoid of any degree of thought or challenge so there's no sophistication to AE there.  Fate zergin is the easy way to speed level that's ever been in a solo ez-mode MMORPG though so there is that...but you hardly need to do much damage to be part of the zerg and get xp for doing nothing.  No real need of AE except for marginal extra giggles.

     

    I haven't seen much call for mass AE anywhere else.

     

    I doubt you'd AE farm or level as you would in some other MMORPGs.  I doubt you'd do mass AE pulls in instances like you do in some MMORPGs either.  Either wouldn't be practical or wouldn't be possible.

    Premium MMORPGs do not feature built-in cheating via cash for gold pay 2 win. PLAY to win or don't play.

    I started 3 toons Arcanist, Archer, and Thaumaturge. The Thaumaturge certainly did some sweet damage.

    I am figuring I got time to figure this one out.

    Usually I'd jump on Monk but I like the altruistic and can maybe heal a little Monk/Nun.  This sounds more like pure dps class style Monk, eh?

    So now pondering if White Mage or Scholar type or something.  I better read more to be sure I don't want Bard for that matter.  Who is the most CC related class?
