The iOS version of the Final Fantasy XIV "Libra Eorzea" app is now available on iTunes. The app gives players the chance to check out character profiles and access to a comprehensive game database. Over time, Square Enix will be adding new features to the app. In addition, the Android version of Libra Eorzea is in the works for a future release date.
Game Database
FINAL FANTASY XIV: LIBRA EORZEA contains an encyclopaedic catalog of in-game information, including items, quests, non-playable characters (NPCs), achievements, and more. With a host of updates in the works, the database will serve as an ever-useful resource for the adventurers of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.
Character Profiles
Players with an active FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn account can log in with their Square Enix account credentials to review their character information such as attributes and gear. They can also browse the profiles of other characters in their Free Company, Linkshell, or use the search function to view details on other players and Free Companies. Moreover, players can even learn where fellow adventurers acquired their gear.
Final Fantasy XIV Libra Eorzea is free on iTunes.

Tjeez relax! It´s a "COMPANION" app! In no way is it necessary to use it!
It´s just a item/quest database. That´s all. Nothing you can´t find directly on the internet.
Just because you cannot digitally buy the game right now, doesn´t change the fact hat hundreds of thousands of PC and PS3 players are currently enjoying the game and welcome this app.
Get out of your house and go buy a physical copy you can still in fact do that.
This app for Symbion plix plox?
Nice app, no real use I think, and I'd rather collect them by now knowing which ones I missed until I see them with others ;-)
You do realize there are people who can't just go out and buy a physical copy?Who might live in a small town and going out to get it might be a several hour drive to a city or a town with Walmart.Hell they may have a disability that makes it arduous to do so even if they are in a city or large town.
Android is bigger now true and I prefer it personally but the App Store on iOS is more established and the iOS platform itself is easier to produce for because of the narrow amount of hardware configurations to code for, much like PCs compared to consoles.
YoshiP in a producer live show said Android will arrive 3-4 weeks after IOS version.
They are developing both versions, but ios is out earlier than android.
