I don't have any issues with the current maintenance plan as a european based player as I am working during these hours
Just tired of people who think that the world is all about them..
I see a lot of complaining (especially US based players) about the times when maintenance takes place and their plans to have this changed just so they can raid and what not. It's not the end of the world not playing a game for an evening..
Dude, we live in the USA of course its all about us!!! lol

I know it sucks. I got to finally sit down around 8 something forgetting the servers were going to be down, and ouch. Played some Aion instead, it's not bad just not the same. Aion's turning into a good go to game for times like these, they have an event on atm and getting some pretty cool chit.

Servers have to go down at some point. I'm truly tired of our sense of entitlement we Americans fee we deserve. US based games have downtimes that aren't always kosher with the EU or Asia, so why should FFXIV be any different.
Japan is 13 Hours ahead of us. So, it's 8:45 PM right now for them, thus their primetime.
Be happy, at least they didn't do it on a Friday/Saturday.
Suck it up and do something else.

LOL yep - we Americans tend to think the world revolves around our schedule.
LOL.. We do! No seriously more importantly North America is where you're going to make the most money. I thought the NA servers are in Canada not Japan, and I'm guessing they have a bank of people here working on it here.

Sorry, NA may be still a good market for specific games but its not the Hub of the MMO-World anymore...

I completely agree... but for the love of all things holy, don't post anything on the FF14 forums. You will get flamed to death. They are completely and absolutely frothy-mouthed about defending the game on every single point.
Then you get the "North America is not the center of the universe" argument. And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it is.. but there must be some way to at least wait until say 12am or so to take them down. North America is certainly not the center of the universe, but there are a TON of players there.
Perhaps they could take the Japan, North American and EU servers down at separate times in order to accomodate players. I know other games have done this.

LOL, I did the same thing. Had a cup of coffee ready and attempted to log on right around 8:30pm and then went into a 2 min. fit of rage. I got over it quickly and tried some Dragon Prophet as I've been waiting to give it a spin. Ya know what? I didn't hate it.

Interesting article, but is that based off their service primarily? I'm not flaming, just asking.
