Technical problem...

Hi,

after finally managing to enter the game world I am experiencing some odd problems:
I can move around, jump and everything and the whole thing runs very smoothly so far. But for some weird reason the server-side seems to have problems, because NPCs/Mobs and other Players are not updated ...I also cant attack anything or interact with npcs properly...

Could this be something firewall-related or have other players experienced similiar problems?

    I have the same problem i enter the game world and evrything stands still and i get disconnected, can u talk to other players ? cause i cant.

    Same problem here.

    I can run around and jump, but i cant start a fight, the action-key for hanggliding also doesnt work

    are u guys behind a router becuase maybe thats the problem

    Yes, im behind a router. But in the past this hasnt been a problem for me when playing online games like daoc. Maybe I have to change some settings, but which ports does sog use? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    yes, router...
    but there is no information whatsoever on which ports DnL uses...
    If any1 knows - would be much appreciated

    I'm not behind a router or firewall and I had same problem. The game is just too buggy.

    In War - Victory.

    i think i know what is it :P but i dont know for sure. read it :
    SOG version 0.88.81.
    We currently have troubles with authentications on our server.
    We are working on it and will let you know as soon as it is fixed.
    Update: the authentication trouble has been identified and is in the process to
    be fixed. In the meantime, we will frequently restart the server.
    Please accept our apologies for this

    after i was disconected the server went down ;/ but i dont know for sure maybe its only haphazard

    now i've got another problem ...

    #LOGIN_CUSTOM_DEFINE_ERROR#

    when i was disconected i had to use magic combination of CTRL+ALT+DEL becose i waited 30 min to game shut down ;/ i find on other forum this :

    Solution:This is that the login server is down, you may also get this error if you where disconnected suddenly and it might work if you re-try in a few minutes

    but server is up and i try to log in about hour do someone know what to do ??

    I was able to log in for a couple of minutes again - and this time i managed to draw weapons an fight against an evil grey wolf image The creature killed me, but at least we know now, that this is not a router- or settings-problem.

    I hope, the server lets me fly my hanglider the next session

    I changed nothing - it seems to be a server-sided-bug. At least I hope so...

    For those still having the problem:

    I sent a ticket to AD concerning Ports and received the answer now.

    Martin from the D&L-Support-Team wrote: "Settlers of Ganareth connects through ports 6666 and 20013. Some router can disrupt the UDP traffic so try to open the previous ports."

     

    Maybe this helps.
