This is the way I see it :
I got tired of GW2 also. My first impressions of the art design was terrible, it turned me right off. However, it took me three weeks or more to really decide that I didn't like the game.
I enjoy FF14 still, and have been playing it for longer and can tell that I have future staying power.
BUT instantly ?...And One day ?.....You unlocked almost zero features in GW2. Chances are you not gonna like anything,,,,,So don't bother !

Funny, I find the art design in Guild Wars to be incredibly unique and a gorgeous compromise between lame realism that soon loses it's touch and hyper exaggerated heroics~
Though I agree, it seems you're just looking for something to hate OP and not giving anything a chance. You will not like anything, try single player games. That's my honest advice.

If you enjoy leveling and story you might enjoy it for a couple of weeks but not so sure how you will feel once you hit 50 because that is when most of the players quit. The FC i joined is left with 7 active members where as we had 75 active members daily. A lot of people quit once they hit 50.
Going by the information you gave us in the first post, namely that you didn't like GW2, which is a game, I'd wager you wouldn't like XIV, as it's also a game.

I thought they are both single player games? /wink

Have you ever tried fish apple pie? JK, actually a valid point IMO, you really need to try the game for yourself and see or watch some videos to see if its something you will like.
FF14 = WoW mixed with Runescape imo. I personaly prefer something a little bit on the challenging side of things but this will keep me amused till a more longterm game come along, with anyluck EQN/Landmark will be it.

I stopped playing GW2 after about 2-3 weeks. I enjoyed it but it burned me out after a while. But I find myself enjoying FFXIV more. I havent played it lately due to GTAV but its solid and keeps me interested.
To me they are very different. GW2 I grew tired of in 2 Hours and despite hours to make the spending worth it, I found the game to be very stale and lack luster. FF14 on the other hand for me was fun. I'd say its all about what you are looking for in a game and what you like. Really hard to comment otherwise.

It would help if you told us what in particular you didn't like in GW2.
I had the exactly opposite experience and my FFXIV is now gathering dust after about 2 hours of play.

Nah, you'll enjoy it longer, Especially if you like pve endgame (hard mode dungeons and raids)
FFXIV actually has progression...so you can still run stuff "for fun" AND get rewarded for it.
Progression isn't horizontal, and they don't give you all 5 skills within 5 levels. You wont be wearing the same rags up until endgame.
Dungeons are not zerg spams, where everyone is a DD.
It does have dynamic events, not really the staple of the game but they are there if you have a need for zerg pve.
Oh and there is the whole crafting/gathering aspect of the game which is well done, complex, and worthwhile.
GW2 and FFXIV are on the complete opposite sides of the themepark spectrum.

Thank you!
