Saw a single 2-star HQ axe go up the last night for ~330k gil. costs about 180k to make. sold in less than 24 hrs. Want to make an easy 150k? I recommend everyone should try this out because i've been told crafting is so easy to master in this game that everyone can do something like this.

I wouldnt say crafting is easy here either, its an effort in patience. Even more so if you gather your own mats.
Crafting end game gear is extremely profitable. Making Astral Bracelets or Rings costs around 2 - 2.5mil, sell for 4-5 million depending on server.
That is a whopping 2-2,5 million profit for 10 minutes crafting (ok you need a top crafter with multiple skills from other crafts to HQ it)
what kind of person has 5mil on a non-legacy server?? lol the only person that would have that kind of money is a crafter. I mean... How many battledance III materia does a dungeon runner have to make to get that kind of money?? lol
i dont believe you... can u link me the item? because i checked those items on the ffxiv databse and the recipe does NOT look like it costs even 100k to make.

I'm making good gil selling hq ignots and resources. Love all the layers to this economy. If you put in the time and research, you can corner a niche on just about any crafted item.
Speaking of mechanics of the economy: I noticed that the shard market fluctuates a lot. At one point ice shards went for 50-60 gil per unit on my server, then 2 days later down to 20 gil each.
So nowadays (since I level all 8 crafting professions), I make sure to check the market when I login and logout to see which shard is cheap at that point so I can buy it while it is still cheap XD.

yes I noticed this too not just with shards but with resources in general. Its not difficult to go out and amass a ton of a particular resources in an afternoon. The challenge comes from the sheer amount of different resources that can be gathered. Not to mention their hq versions. So it is easy for a resource to be suddenly drained off the market and suddenly there is a spike in demand that lasts maybe a day. If you're on top of your game, you can make good gil reacting to these spikes.
Free to play = content updates for the cash shop. Buy to play = content updates for the cash shop.
Subscription = Actual content updates!
that makes perfect sense since i probably made a third of all my profits from ~lvl35 items... stuff that most people can make. lets see i start with a 200gil item, mark it up 4000%... people still buy it like hot cakes. damn that low level item insignificant profit margin.

Non Legacy will probably not see any of these items soon, you need 18 peacock ore which are 125 tombstones of philosophy each (iirc). You also need HQ crafting set with materia melded to HQ these at a somewhat reasonable rate. Even then it is tough.
It's the intermediate crafted items like ingots and lumber that are worth a lot of money and easy to move through the market
I've been searching high and low for this info in game, but couldn't find it. So imma ask:
Do stronger items convert into stronger Materia? Sometimes I think about selling some strong item I've used, but it's 100% bonded and I dunno if Melding it would be more profitable.
Also, what's up with that thing about the Materia not giving the bonus it should give? Instead of giving +1, it gives zero and the zero appears in red. Is it about the Materia not being good enough for the item? It doesn't seem to be about the catalyst. I checked. And it is not about the Melding not working - it says the Meld has 0% chance to fail.
Thanks.
There is no HQ+2. Only NQ and HQ.
They already tell you what the minimum amount of Control and Craftsmanship is you need to even make the * and ** recipes. With a HQ Crafting AF and Materia you can HQ them at a fairly consistent rate of 80%.
You do also need cross craft skills like Manipulation, Steady Hand II and Waste Not to name a few.
any game where items don't actually break ever means in the end crafting is useless unless its consumables
Not sure what game you are referring to but in FFXIV materia is obtained through used convertible items. I'll make a full set of jewelry with lower tiered materia to do AK runs and when the spirit is at 100% I break therm down for higher tier materia and do it all over again. I have more tier III materia than I know what to do with at the moment.
On my server I hear people shouting 25k per peacock ore and that still seems low to me since 3 CM runs will only buy you two. You need 9 just to make one rose gold ingot, so at those prices that's a 225k gil ingot. I could be missing something, it may be more expensive.
