need help building a gaming rig

So I've decided to go pc next gen, since I already enjoy mmos on the pc any way I might as well make a gaming rig that can play all the next gen games as well. But I need help on deciding what parts to buy, I want it to be able to run all the upcoming games like battlefield 4, titan fall, dark souls 2 (it would be great if I could run these at max or close to max settings), pretty much anything for the next few years. I have about 800 to spend, I don't need an O/S or monitor. I just need the guts and a case.  any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Do you really need the absolute maximum settings, or can you be satisfied with good graphics?

    At a budget of $800, you can probably get something capable of playing modern games on high settings at 30+ FPS @1920x1080 resolution, but you might have to drop down to medium graphics for next-generation games.  Until they announce system requirements, there is no way to predict what will be required to run unreleased games on maximum settings, and even when they do, you might have to wait for someone in the public to test the game to find out what is really needed.

    Go for the Z77 Motherboards they are less expensive than Z87 and are better at overclocking at least in the i-3770k

     

    Buy a good motherboard at the top CPU a cheap Graphics card like mine then sell the cheap one and buy a better one when you have the money.

    You probably looking to spending 800$ just the PC not monitors or mouse & keyboards.

    Although the bit about Ivy Bridge overclocking better than Haswell is true, it's only really an issue if you're going after extreme numbers with air cooling. My i7 4770k is currently @ 4.6 GHz using a Noctua air cooler and I have absolutely no desire to go higher than that... after a certain point, diminishing returns kick in and you're only OCing for its own sake - not saying there is anything wrong with that but extreme OCing is a whole different hobby.

    Heck, for gaming performance a stock Haswell with a good GPU will max all settings in today's and tomorrow's games. The GPU is still the most important factor for that as long as you have a reasonably fast modern CPU.

    Also, without getting technical about it, suffice it to say that most benchmarks show that at the same clock speed, Haswell outperforms Ivy by a small margin.

    On $800 an AMD build will make more sense and can fit the budget easier.

    This was something I did fairly quickly. You can change stuff out as you wish I.E. smaller HDD and better PSU or case, different gpu, ect.

    This should give you a good general idea of what $800 will get you. I assumed you did not need a KB / Mouse. If you do I would go on the cheap with those and build a decent box. Can always buy a better KB / Mouse when you get extra funds.

    Sorry for the late reply thanks everyone for the help. I guess I don't have to have the games on Max settings as long as they look good and run smoothly. Maybe I should hold off for a month or so to see what the system requirements look like for some of these newer games?

    The problem is with temperatures check this video, higher temperatures mean shorter lifespan.

    You don't need to buy a ATX or E-ATX, you can have a pretty powerful PC even with microATX or ITX. Smaller boards simply means less USB ports, less sata expansion slots and 1 to 2 PCI slots.

    BTW I'm really happy with my Asrock Z77 OC Formula it's really really great stable looks cool, durable and easy to overclock if you want to.

    The latest Asrock Z87 mobo have 5 Year warranty I think no other mobo has it and it's semi water proof.

     

    Btw the current state of the hardware is more than enough to handle any game and future game with high quality but before asking about building a rig pc you must first know your budget and if you have a monitor and are just looking for the tower or require a full desktop.

     

    * there is also a push by the industry to further limit piracy and infringe in privacy so the more you wait the most likely you will have more intrusive hardware.

    Make sure you don't go higher then CPU recommended speed by Intel(not xmp)why?it will add noise and make you lag .like my i5 2500k is maxed at 1333 (non-xmp)so you set it at that.this way you all get best possible latency and speed will not be affected enough to warrant bothering with!make sure all component are msi-x supportive !sad isn't supporting msi-x?buy another sad instead.when you vs build it ,disable any c in bios(sleep)this should enable proper timer!lastly disable automatic time synchronization in window.this should alleviate a lot of issue potentiality and conflict.

    The build I showed you has a 7950 in it. Which will run any current games and soon to be released games on high-max settings.

    You could always wait and save up more money to build a more powerful rig. But the games you listed wont need a Nvidia Titan to run on high.

    Waiting or not is of course up to you, on an $800 budget you will only get so much PC, be it today or 2 months from now. The requirements for those games wont really matter. Unless you plan on saving up double your current budget to build something that will play everything on max with ease then its a moot point.

    You could save and have around  $1200+ budget and go with an Intel build, which will perform a bit better and can get a bit better gpu. But overall the AMD build I posted will play the shit out of any current and released game for awhile.
