Initially I assumed that it was one of those countless phishing e-mails I'm always receiving but logged in to find the suspension was real. What a pain. Not expecting much sympathy as you're all probably going to assume that I must have done something wrong. Just wondering if anyone else has suffered this fate recently.

Honestly  in the past I've always sided with the game whew violations are concerned, but seriously SE has just made one blunder after another so you have my sympathy.

So glad I cut and ran when I did.

I would seriously file an appeal.

Then I would Drop my Subscription and not renew it until they.

1.) Fix their website/Account Management System better, the current site has serious issues and a massive LodeStone AD which new players who are even interested in looking at info on the game can't see whats behind that stupid pop-up.

2.) You are not the only one to get suspended there are many and Square Enix is very likely running an automated  ban script that detects things like Auction House Trades, Player Trades, and  will automatically ban you're account and send an automated email if you ever make any type of transaction with a gold seller even if you have no idea the gold you are getting is coming from a RMT/Gold Seller which the bans could be by anyone.

Again as I said about this Square Enix can't prove you bought gold illegally which seems to be why a lot of players are getting banned unless  Suare Enix is big brother watching all players illegally outside of their game,  you can freely buy gold and as long as you trade a single healing potion in the trade window for a million gil, and the person isn't spamming gold selling services in world there is absolutely no evidence just suspected activity not enough for a legit ban without raising a bunch of complaints even if a player did buy gold.

Never have I seen any complaints this bad from multiple people on any other MMO launch, Square Enix is doing a bad job and the only way to make them stop is dropping subscription and making them fix it or don't even bother playing it all honestly I feel the new Final Fantasy is Trash anyways I didn't continue past the free days after owning the previous collectors edition.

Heck I complained about all this on their forum you can't even write 1000 letters on a single forum post on their site without editing it after posting.

Well here is what might have happened .

#1 You bought gil form a 3rd party that is a no no

#2 You used a program to Bot . crafting or gathering that is also a no no

#3 You exploited a flaw in the game example there is a dungeon where the mobs just stay frozen in place SE posted a thread about it telling players not to proceed with the dungeon if it happens . And to exit the dungeon

#4 You have not logged in for 10 days and a RMT took over your account to spam RMT messages . ( that is why you use the security token )

#5 you never updated your payment type and your monthly dues are due .

IF it is none of these reasons contact SE like it said and dispute it . OR ask what happened to have the action taken .

However if your trying to log in now its under maintenance until 2am PST

I'm gonna bet money on it being either number 1 or 4. My account was taken over by RMT and all i had to do was follow the link they sent me to change my password and voila, ahd my account back(though gil and crystal shards were gone)

Tell me exactly how Square Enix would tell if I bought Gil with 100% Certain.

Lets say I went to a gold sellers Site I bought a million gold outside of the game told them my character name and told them trade it to me face to face.

In game they simply contact me and say "Hello Friend, got the amor for me"

You respond with "Yes Meet me @ X Location"

Then you make the trade they give you 1 million gold for a set of n00b armor you crafted.

Its a legit trade, Square Enix can assume you bought gold illegally but can't prove, and banning players for such is a really dumb move and a way to loose a lot of consumers.

With all the complaints on the MMORPG forums here I doubt that every player has placed a gold order or hacked the game, Out of every launch of games I have not seen players complaining here and on other sites about getting their accounts suspended and I know all these games have Real Money Trading in them as well.

Its Square Enix, Just as with the game called Age OF Wushu their data-base was compromised many times many players hacked lost items, but they claimed that it was the players fault with that many players complaining I know better.

This is considering the fact that when I would do a Gold Order on any game I would make sure that the company uses a clean account to do the transactions not one of those in game gold spammers linked to the same IP address.

Most likely your account was stolen to be used for RMT purposes. Someone earlier made a good point that most likely a fansite or something outside of the game was hacked and all the data that was taken was tried against popular games like WoW and FFXIV and accounts that had the same data (email & password) were compromised. Not saying this was the case, it's just one possibility.

I suggest contacting SE and get the ball rolling in your favor.

<sigh> this is almost too stupid to answer, but here goes.

1....no one is gonna pay you a million gil for noob armor

2...... that same person that traded you a million gil for noob armor also trades other people for a million gil, making him very easy to track

3......They look at market trends in the game, the player economy, the ability to farm/make gil and come up with a magic number. If you are WAY over that number, odds are you bought gil.

If you weren't so busy trying to ruin game economies with your blatant violation of the EULA, and ruining the game for other people, I'm sure you'd be able to figure this all out. As it is, I'm surprised you don't require a bike helmet wherever you go.

I can state that I have never brought Gil or used a bot  or exploited a bug and I've recently paid a subscription, so I'm thinkimg that 4 is the more likely resaon (I don't have a security token). I've changed the password naturally. No crysta has gone from my account. No additional email has been linked to my account.

If SquareEnix has been compromised, then people with physical tokens should have been hacked by now. However, not a single such case has been presented to my knowledge.

SE can trace it . The game  has red flags . IF player x  is level lets say 30 and has made next to zero gil in game then out of nowhere there gil is set at 1mil that flags your Chr . Then the GMs do a trace of your actions to see how you got that gil . Remember your Chr is a line of data , a code a script of many in SEs world . They can look at your code anytime . In fact they have a team that just has one thing to do look at flagged players line of code .  Now if a lvl 35 WAR trades some Full slotted Militia gear that they crafted themselves for 1mil that would be legit . But some noob gear for 1mil not so fast my friend .

There were like no more than 10 000 BANs in game. Game has about 1 000 000subs. So this number is not so high. But there are like 1000 threads about this cos every banned player have to make their own QQ topic.
