What server and what class?

4tw.Krinn4tw.Krinn Member Posts: 22

Recently I have looked into Eq2 and played at my friends house.  The graphics are AMAZING!

But im stuck... I don't know what server I want to go to or what class to play.   What classes I have thought about is: Assassin, Fury, Inquisitor, and Ranger.

So what I need from you is: A little about each of those classes.  The good, the bad, and such...

And why you think I should you join your server.

I LOVE PK, and a like a vigorous community.

Well first Krinn, welcome to the boards as I see your pretty new here. Now on to EQ2.

Classes, well just like pretty much any other game, you should pick a class that you feel suits you best, it's a long road ahead for any class in this game so it's important you take one that you really meets your needs for the long haul.

Assassin is a fun class, scout of course with arguably some of the best burst dps in the game, Fury is the offensive line of both druid sublclasses - warden being the more defensive one, as a fury you can get some very solid mid-range dps and heal a group well on your own and or be the single best back up healer in the game. Inquisitor's (or templars) as it stands right now are probably the best all around healers right now (templars at later stages being slightly broken at the moment) with some very solid de-buffs. And then Ranger... Unfortunately I just don't know enough about this class but I can say this, I have a number friends that have played rangers for a very long time and they are absolutely passionate about their class but it seems to have it's fair share of issues.

Keep in mind when your picking a server that there is no open pvp, there is dueling and an arena system available in the expansion DoF, but other then that, I don't think your going to get to much PK'ing going on in EQ2. For none-rp server I would suggest Mistmore, it has a good amount of people playing and a relatively decent community, for rp servers, Antonia Bayle and Lucan D'lere are your only two options. Both have healthy rp community's although lately it's been told that Lucan has been the better of the two for RP since lots of kiddies are heading to AB that have little to no interest in RP in the first place.

Anyways, even without much PK, I hope you enjoy EQ2, I've just returned after some time away from the game and I'm happy with the changes they've made and I'm starting a new character from scratch so it's a nice fresh start for me also.

Thank you so much for the information.   I suppose i'll be doing one of the Rp server till a pvp server comes out and/or Arena comes out.  PvP isn't essential to me, but it is what I enjoy most about mmorpgs.

Once I get my new computer(Early Jan.) i'll be on Eq2 all day ^^.

So the next question is what RACE I want to play... I was thinking between Halfling, or Ratonga... Though I LOVE Troll.
