i'm getting kind of pissed off at watching vidoes of developers all over the place praising the Oculus Rift as they show you how tehy are playing their favourite game on it.....but we yet have to have even a tentative launch date for consumers.
WTF is taking so long?
it's been in production for 2 years. We have seen "devs" and journalists trying demos for the last 10+ months. Everyone that tries it is extremely excited about it. I've been so tempted to buy the "dev kit", except for the fact that i'm not a dev and i would probably have no way to actually get it to work. and yet all we have on the website is "we are working as hard as possible to get it to you..."
in the last few months especially there has been very little news on it, almost dropped off the map. Are they having problems with it? WTF are they doing? how come no big budget companies have clued into this?
i dont give a crap if it looks like shit and i can only play 1 game on it for now, i want to try it myself!...like, yesterday!

Even if they were to release it now it would flop, purely from lack of software.
There's also the consideration that it runs fine of developers computers, which in scale of things is about the same thing as a dedicated gaming computer(maybe a bit lower or higher depending). Which means it would flop worse due to how few people could use it. Really look at the $500 computers at like best buy.
