Hi and thanks for taking time to answer all these questions!
As someone already asked previously in this thread, however not answered, will there be any performance tweaks? There are several players who experience FPS stutter, which started to happen for several issues ago. The FPS stutter/lag occour when one is to enter PvP or dungeon instances, often when DX11 is on, and also often with windows 8.
Is this to be adressed? I myself have not been able to play since this happened as it is a loss having to play with DX9.
Hmm I must have missed that then. Yes we will tweak performance as we go. The core engine team has a lot of focus on Lego right now, but when they are freed up we will hopefully be able to get more optimization on windows 8 e.t.c
When will the novels and the movie come out? (At least Novels. Please.)
The answers about PvP are appreciated.
Heh, Scriv and I just spent this week writing ghost stories. You can get *that* book in the game during the Halloween event Just join the League of Monster Slayers and you'll be fine.
Marketing control me when it comes to movies. So I can say NOTHING!
Think there's any chance a plain "greenscreen" could be added to the Albion Theatre, something that would let people pose their characters in front of it to make machinima easier? Seeing more TSW themed videos on Youtube would be great.
I mean, a full model viewer would be even better but something tells me it would be much, much easier to just through a fluorescent green (without textures) backdrop in there.

Yeah somebody asked me for this in the past and it fell off my to do list. We should be able to put this in easily. Let me hassle somebody...
Update: I'm not kidding, I hassled the right people and this should be in the Issue #8 patch.
Before release, the possibility of a traditional expansion was tossed around in interviews. Obviously, the development situation has changed significantly since then, but if the finances turn around (i.e, the Lego MMO is a huge hit) and the possibility for larger scale development comes back, would you focus on beefing up the content of future issues or pursue something larger? As a related issue, the concept of a potential Kickstarter has been brought up on the forums, and I just wondered what your thoughts were on the subject.
The honorable Makidai would like to know: I'd like to ask if there are plans to add new weapons. Not aux weapons, but full-fledged weapons like our pistols etc.
Any news on the tattoo parlor? I know it was planned, then cutbacks, then it wound up on the "wouldn't that be nice to do if there was nothing else going on ever" list - is there a chance we will see this in 2014?

Having Lego be a huge hit would be a huge boon across the products. However, I would focus on the Issues, increasing in size and frequency.
Just to be clear, I have a pretty good idea of what I want to happen in the game through until about Issue #24. I know the locations and the rough storylines for all of those issues. I'd rather not try to bundle it all into an expansion but rather increase the content schedule and see what we can deliver.
As for Kickstarter, I think it works best as a concept for getting fresh ideas off the ground. We're already managing a backer/founder scenario with GM pack owners, I'd rather not try to juggle that twice over. Plus I'm not even sure of the legal ramifications for a listed company such as Funcom.

My question is: Golden raid loot is extremely rare and binds on pickup. I think one thing we really need to know is: do we need to gather the golden items on one person? I think because of its extreme rarity this mini spoiler really would help.
During the beta there where several lore groups that where cut in the final release, such as one that gave more background on the savage coast theme park. Why where these lore threads cut? Are there any plans to bring them back, and if so when?
Joel TSW is one of the greatest games I have ever played!
1. Is there ever going to be a individual inventory for pets? I have so many of them!
2. WiIl we ever see pets that do something besides look awesome?
3. (More a suggestion) I really think you should put a separate section in the store for issues. I know when they first started to come out it was hard for me to find them in the boost section.
4. Besides fight clubs, would you ever put a 1v1 dual option in?
Ello, wondering since before release a lot of videos mentioned that you worked closely with Nvidia. Is there any chance, in the near future, that Nvidia 3D Vision will be upgraded? Its next to impossible to play in 3D
"We would need something to put on the computers, IMO. "
may be pacman? ))
is there a chance to see the costumes in the stores of other franchises. for example stormtrooper helmet from Star Wars or the Hulk hands?
Unfortunately we can't just use things without some form of permission. BUT, if there are any disney execs reading this, you can contact me and I will be happy to work with you to get any and all merchandise in TSW from your game. After all, if it exists in the real world, it exists in The Secret World. (Plus John Lasseter is a massive fan of TSW, you can tell by all the references he gets them to hide in the Tinkerbell movies)

I need my render coders. They are currently very busy making Lego work on everything that exists including that old toaster you threw out in 1987.

On that note, a separate tab for Veteran Items would be good too, as well as some new Veteran Items. Feel free to mention any new Veteran Items that may be in the pipeline <cough>
Hi Joel, TSW is a great game, keep up the great work, it's the first game that I have truly become immersed in since purchasing in March, and it is just really engrossing, I'm glad that I finally was granted the chance to purchase it when it became subscription free.
I am new to playing MMOS, I've played a few before, but never really understood the logistics of how character stats work. And I would be so grateful, if you can please explain a better understanding of how the stats of Talis and glyphs work. I understand what they are but not really what they do, to use them to my best potential when soloing. So I would appreciate if you can go over that or point me to a website that explains a better comprehension of how Talismans work, along with how would you choose if you were playing solo, do you usually want more health, or more attack, or others? Thanks for all the input, and sorry for all the confusion! So thanks again!
I was hoping to ask about the long term game balance with The Secret World.
Specifically, what differentiates strong MMO's in my opinion is that they balance the game for PVP and PVE. So that abilities change when entering a PVP zone. I've felt that a large percentage of abilities have been reduced in the past to keep them from being overpowered in PVP and one shotting or stun locking.
Moving forward is there any chance, that it is possible to balance each system separately so that each system doesn't cause problems. The main effect I'm looking for is that dungeons have become increasingly more difficult for newcomers as a result of the changes and with new dungeons unlocking I want to make sure that more accessibility is possible for everyone.

However, any answer appreciated.

You'll use them one day to craft something...legendary. You only need one of what drops from the raid on a single character.

They won't be back, but I also can't tell you why they were cut. Ragnar and Dag had control of that aspect. But Scriv was writing the lore, so maybe if you ask him nicely on the forums, he might answer.

Q1-will we get new faces, head and hairs in character creation with tokyo update or maybe in future?
Q2-any animation changes can be happen ?
1- Nothing planned.
2 - We lost the people who were implementing the new animation backend for TSW. So while we have animators and you will see new animations, we won't get that new fancy tech I was hoping for.

1 - Yes we have plans and a mock-up. Now we just need time to implement it.
2 - Possibly.
3 - We have made some changes recently to help with this. We might make more.
4 - Dueling is hard to setup in our engine due to certain limitations that haunt us from days of yore. So not without a lot of work, which would forgo other features we could have.

Hmmm? I play only in 3d vision (at home - *grumble* Funcom too cheap to buy me a 3d monitor at work *grumble*). It works fine for me (keeping in mind that 3d vision requires essentially double the fps).
I don't think we can do anything more than optimize, though turning of tessellation helps a lot!

awsome work and thank you!!!! look forward to to exploring the game to the hilt!
