Playing this on the PC, it looks nice, but seems kinda of blah. Played to level 15 on two difft classes. Boring quests. Usually the exciting new game holds me, but this game seems kind of clunky. Not like the last version, but still requires this weird focus kind of feel to fight. Plus so far, no voice acting in the quests. Does this change? Does this game get better?
I am not trying to hate, I hope I hear great reasons why you are still playing. GW seems so much better than this game. What do you love, does it get much better? Isnt FF all about immersion? Not feeling it at all so far.

I think GW and FF are two totally different gaming experiences. If you prefer GW style, FF probably wont appeal to you.
What do you mean GW style v FF? What is the FF style? Not hating, I really want to know why you like it better.
GW is action RPG mmo.
FF is traditional oldschool RPG mmo.
You cant compare the two. Its a Action MMORPG vs traditional MMORPG arguement. People who play action based MMORPGs then progress to traditional MMORPG seem to think that they are going backwards in the way of mechanics, but they aren't. They are two different genres. If you like one over the other thats fine. play the one you like. And to me it seems like you like action mmorpgs, but that doesnt make FF14 a bad game.

FFXIV has slower combat, no dodging button, trinity based group play. The crafting is a strategy game. Crafters have their own resource pool like a mana pool, their own character stats, crafting specific gear, and crafting specific abilities. There are no jumping puzzles. One character can be every class and can switch on the fly. There is no pvp yet. Housing is in the first patch. Dynamic Events > F.A.T.E.S. There is no underwater content.
The differences are stark. It really just boils down to what you like to do in an mmo.
GW 2 ruined me I think. The immersion of the NPC's are so good in that game. When I got to FF and there are sound effects etc and then the guy goes to speak and its just quiet with a box of text. Really is a let down. I think future games will have to adopt the GW2 immersion, I mean it is an MMO that is not just about PvP it is supposed to be about story and character development I think.
I think also the way the game unfolds can be a turnoff for some people. The main questline takes takes you from 1-50. Along the way, it unlocks all of the game systems. For example around level 30 you have access to training your mount in combat. Things like this are peppered in every few levels.
For some, they want it all up front so they can do what they want from the beginning. I can relate especially since my goal was to craft. I had to jump through a few hoops at the beginning in order to do what I really wanted. In retrospect, the time it took to do that is just a drop in the bucket when it comes to mmos.
Its really just about your preferences and what you will or wont accept in order to enjoy those preferences.
Strange... GW2 "story" seemed very thin to me & the dodge mechanic got old after about 30 lvls or so. Combat was meh for me. Seemed a bit too gimicky. For me, I guess the whole game felt stale but that's just my opinion. Sounds like some people are into it. I find FFXIV story far superior but I've been playing the FF series since it's inception. The game has some flaws but if you've only played to 15, you haven't really gotten to the meat of the game.
But if you're not into it, I say bail. Life is short, enjoy yourself.
