Played EQ2 several times but never got passed mid level, so with all the additions in recent years it got me wondering how good the quests and stories actually are to get me immersed in the world.. just cant remember much of them. And i am talking about mostly single player quest content.
On top of that i have been spoiled by the ease of finding groups in WoW dungeon finder... 3 minutes in line as a healer or a tank and you have a party to go during the leveling process... Its improtant for me to find groups during leveling, as i am one of those people who is in the game for the journey... reaching max level, getting full AA, and enjoying all the great stories and zones on a single character...
Is it still possible to level down to enjoy lower level content?
Currently i play PvE in WoW, because its so easy to get access to the great group content while leveling... and i play Lotro for the stories.. just wondering if EQ2 could be the game to allow both. I am a big fan of games with a plethora of skills... the more hotbars the better, i can bind over 70 abbilities to keys and use them all... If i slowly build the character from level 1....
Currently i am in the phase where the grass is allways greener at your neighbour while realising that the grass is never perfect.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

No other MMO offers the content, quest chains, races, classes, housing and features of EQ2, hands down it's wins.
Mentoring down is still in the game, why would you think you can't lol. You can also self mentor by visiting a timeless chronomage in any of the major cities, you don't have to be grouped with a lower level player. This will allow you to enjoy content from level 20.
You can also do missions or quests for a timeless chronmage but you must be level 70.
EQ2 Dungeon finder explained http://www.zam.com/wiki/Dungeon_Finder_(EQ2)
the heritage quests are long quests

and you can do the epic weapon quests at 80 (altho they are optional now)
the dungeon finder should be getting a revamp next month
