Just thought I'd start an interesting topic. Hardly anyone uses their real name in game or on forums... so where/how/why did you make yours what it is?
Mine was from an old Vampire: the Masquerade character. Had tons of fun with him till he met his "Dark Fate" *sigh* Soooo his name lives on...

There are only 10 types of people in this world.
Those that understand binary and those that don't.
Technology is dominated by two types of people: those who understand what they do not manage, and those who manage what they do not understand. -Putt's Law

satans disciple comes from my ritualistic fashion of killing awpers in counter strike. id always jump in a circle around them, then when there spinning around and cant see me id jump and knife them, then id laugh over the mic. they called me satans disciple, and they just kept calling me that.

Well kind of straight forward. It came from a couple friends one day when we were all talking and one of them called me Disgruntled Jake, another said no, he's Mad Jake. Seeing as I am an avid Mad Max fan, it fit all too well.
I'd hate to die twice. It's so boring

I use this screen name and Alessan most often. I reserve Alessan only for games (MMORPGs mostly) in which I intend on roleplaying. The name came from some time back when I couldn't think of a good name for an Elf I was playing in a DnD game.
As for Pyro_Insomniac... I made this name back when I was in like 7th grade. I was in this stage where I liked to set things on fire. I also rarely slept... so the name kind of came naturally, I suppose.

This was my first AOL screen name in 1996 or 1997. I wanted to be El Barto (what Bart uses as his vandalism signature in The Simpsons) but it was taken, so my dad said to think of a number. Being a spunky young teenager I of course chose 69.
What was funny though was that he didn't seem to think twice about it, and from then on people kept assuming it was a birth year or something so I had a bunch of older people IMing me all the time.

Homer: "I'm feelin' low, Apu. You got any of that beer that has candy floating in it, you know, Skittlebrau?"
Apu: "Such a product does not exist, sir! You must have dreamed it."
Homer: "Oh. Well then just gimme a six-pack and a couple of bags of Skittles."
phunkymunkey is short for phunkyfloormunkey. Grew up in a family where we all ended up sleeping on the couches and floor. For some reason I would always end up sleeping on the floor. My house looked like a scene from Andromeda Strain, lol. Phunky comes from funky as in rhythm and style (and not smelly). That's why I used the Ph versus the F, Phat is a good thing, Fat is not.
But heh, If people want take it as offensive, then smell my wrath! I'm all for it.
Pheremones HOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!! (Pulls out the Sword of Odors . . )
Permadeath and environmental challenges are the next great step in the evolution of MMORPGs. Only through true adversity will one feel accomplished. Only in truly knowing you can die will true adversity present itself.
