It is f2p and has the option to p2p. You can level all the way to end game as f2p just a little easier with p2p and of course you get all access to everything.
Game has: Full voice overs, Story Line, Choice to be Light or Dark side, Flash Points, War Zones, PvP Ranking system, Arena, Space Combat, Legacy - Achievements, 55 levels.
I have played before, and have 2 lvl 50's
Currently leveling with a RL friend and helping him with key binds. On server Prophecy of the five, Republic side.
Our overall goal is to PvP end game with structured players.
We are not elitist or little kids. EsT play time evenings 5pm-12am

I actually really liked swtor when I played it (till 40 or so). I just re-downloaded it last night in an attempt to convince my girlfriend to give it a go for nights when we don't have anything in FFXIV (5-6 nights out of the week we're free...). I logged in and saw all of the f2p restrictions that had alluded me before as a subscriber and logged right out.
I know you don't NEED any of the buyable stuff to play to 50, but there's a lot of enjoyment missing there for me. I really loved the space battles (starfox style), and the pvp. I could probably look past all the other restrictions (no epic loot, money cap, titles, no head slot, no extra skill bars [lolwtf]) but those were the things I enjoyed the most. I really wanted to get back into it too. The announcement regarding the 12v12 space battles made me even tell friends in XIV "I might be playing another game soon", but I doubt this will be the one.

I am far from a Fan boy and I do not agree with the f2p style. But iv'e only been playing for 2 days since I came back. I bought the collectors addition from day 1 and was awarded 7,000 Cartel points which is what you would unlock certain things for the game if your f2p. With 5,000 cartel points you can unlock everything you need to level up and use endgame and its permanent.
So just food for thought, You don't need to maintain a sub.

Maybe if "Just" Space ship battles were my thing. I like to do a bit of everything, and actually see my character.
I've had... let me log in...
Maybe a total of 4,500 Cartel Coins. Of which 3,000 I had purchased. I was just a "regular edition" guy. I bought and spent all my coins on "cartel packs" and the (awesome looking) "Investigators armor set".
I looked last night and didn't see anything regarding lifting restrictions on the pvp and space battle games. I was under the impression form before that the restriction lifts for those were only weekly or such?
