Mouse Lag problem with current patch

With the latest patch of FFXIV - I am now introduced with "mouse lag." it appears when I am playing the game that my mouse is not real smooth but it is skipping frames. When I alt + tab out of the game the mouse is very unresponsive.
I was wondering if anybody else has this issue?
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and that did not fix the problem.
My Computer specs are:
Intel Core i7 2600k
Graphics Card: Nvidia 680 2GB of Ram
Ram: 8GB DDR3
Any suggestions or possible fixes?

Could be the mouse.
No seriously, what mouse are you using?
Thanks for the info - I will take a look at it - I will post back later tonight after I had a chance to try deleting the files that where recommended and post back the results.
