Help decide the future of Ultima Online: EA Games market research

Hey guys,

I am working in collaboration with EA Games and the University of California, Berkeley in conducting market research. My team is helping EA Games decide how to handle the future of Ultima Online. If any of you would like to share some of your insights, please fill out this survey:

http://freeonlinesurveys.com/rendersurvey.asp?id=131588.

Additionally, if any of you would be interested in being a part of an in depth interview, please email us at uosurvey@gmail.com.

Best regards,

Steven

bring felucca back, destroy trammel, get rid of awful expansions EA is using to soak money out of unsuspecting gamers. just to name a few. Origin > EA. EA effectivly bamboozled, alienated, and killed the grandpa of this genre, i'll say it again.

--EA should leave quality products/franchises alone, and stick to madden--

wait, they even messed up madden for x-box 360, i can't believe i was swindled by EA again.::::11::

If you really do that then post on UO stratics where the UO community is lots stronger.

And if EA still has no idea how to handle UO then I doubt they will survive with it until the make that decision.

I took the survey and told them I would start playing Ultima Online if they would return some of the shards or make another Ultima Online and return it to pre-UO:R Hopefully they will get alot of those.

    *Edit*

Get ride of Malas, Samurai lands, Ill, and all the other lands....even Trammel. UO players want Felluca only. Bring back the UO we used to know. We want looting, thiefs, the same scams. We want Origins Ultima Online back, we don't want to play EA's UO.

MaeEye, you are right on.  Sure with all the griefing and scams the game was tough.  I almost quit the first week, but sticking it out was the best gaming experience I ever had.  It was like learing how to survive on the streets (Gangs of NY style).  Once you learned how to adapt and survive, then it was unreal.  From being a newbie you became a Master and could teach new players how thrive and stay alive (lol that rhymes, I'm a poet and didnt know it !)

Ah, but why not throw in some more content? I'm sure that keeping all the classes I've read about in would be cool. You've just got to take all the stuff you've got so far, and fit it all in nicely. Add some cool new animations, maybe make it so that your sword doesn't change hands if you turn around. (Does it still do that?) Basically, just clean everything up so it's more stream line. I dunno how things are if you have whatever version of it you can have these days. But, it doesn't seem so good. And despite sucking, a lot of new stuff has been added in that could be neat if done correctly. As long as you have the execution down, then I guess you're going to have to come up with something better than they've been doing.

What everyone else said. Bring back a Classic shard. UO Is horrible now. Theres been plenty of people saying they would give UO another chance if they brought it back. But EA would rather pump out neon wedding candles and crap that's not going to bring anyone back.

Also do something about the graphics. :)  And bring back Richard Garriot, Starr Long, and Designer Dragon. Send the people working there now to Afghanistan to build persistant online worlds.
